Help For Someone Lost

I want to buy a Technomate 1500CI (for ease of use) and because it comes with a built in card reader.

Now, I'm interested in viewing Hispasat channels, could anyone advise if it's possible to use a Funcard in this reciever for this and if not, what may be a suitable alternative?

CS looks a little too complicated for me

It'll be for an elderly person abroad, so if it's possible to just send updated Cards to stick in a reciever, then that'll be ideal.

I know I'm probably not going to have much luck, but I thought I'd better ask the experts first!

funcards on hispasat..........impossible (no macht rom) you need a mosc
rom 110 or 101 on portuguese channels and i thing a 102 on spanisch .
so my advice to you is forget it (cards).
the mosc cards for portuguese provider are a little expensive .
a 110 working mosc goes at least to 150 euros on dealers or more
the 101 have just more a couple of mounths.
the best alternative is firmware on that receiver (i have no ideia if there s any) or just buy a cam like trex for about 70 euros.
and you get all the light there................
