Chihi set for Cologne exit

Playmaker will leave at the end of the season

Adil Chihi will not be signing a new contract at Cologne and is set to leave the club as a free agent.
The Morocco international will see his current deal expire at the end of the season and he will then be free to move on.
The 22-year-old feels he is ready for a new challenge, having graduated through the academy ranks at Cologne.
He is hoping he can finish the 2010/11 season strongly, putting him in the best possible bargaining position when it comes to finding a new club.
Chihi is keen to point out that he will not be making a decision on his future any time soon, but has welcomed reports suggesting Werder Bremen have already expressed an interest.

Roberts relaxed about future

Rovers striker vows to keep scoring if selected

Jason Roberts has insisted he will score goals if selected after finding the target in Blackburn's win over Wigan, while he is not thinking too much about the future.
Roberts struck what turned out to be a decisive blow at Ewood Park on Saturday as Rovers beat his former club 2-1.
The striker's involvement has been limited during the early part of the season after falling out of favour with manager Sam Allardyce, while he has also had injury problems.
But he believes he has shown throughout his career that he can always be relied upon to provide a goal threat.
"I am totally relaxed. My record in every league shows I can score goals so I am totally relaxed about it," he told the Lancashire Telegraph.
"It is no surprise if I come in and score goals, it is not a big deal, it is what you do. You miss some, you score some but you keep going.
"My record suggests I will score goals if I play so I am comfortable, will train hard, keep doing what I have done all my career, which got me here, and whatever happens, happens.
"I will endeavour to keep getting in the team and if selected I will do the best I can. That is what I have always done, whether I have played good, bad or indifferent."

Bettega claims Bale talks

Old Lady reported to have been interested in Wales wideman

Former Juventus technical director Roberto Bettega has claimed that the Italians were in talks last year with Tottenham regarding Gareth Bale.
The 21-year-old wideman has caught the eye of a number of major clubs following a superb showing home and away against European champions Inter Milan in the UEFA Champions League.
Bale netted a hat-trick at Giuseppe Meazza during a 4-3 defeat and then went on to star in a stunning 3-1 victory at White Hart Lane last week.
But Bettega has stated that he travelled to London to discuss the Welshman last year with Harry Redknapp.

Blues striker could play against Preston

Birmingham City forward Garry O'Connor has rejoined Barnsley on a one-month emergency loan deal.
The 27-year-old Scotland international spent a month at Oakwell earlier in the season where he made four appearances for the Tykes, scoring once.
A deal was set to be completed on Friday but suffered technical delays and had to be finalised at the start of the week.
O'Connor will go straight into Barnsley's squad for the Championship clash with Preston on Tuesday night and will remain at the club until 10th October.
Barnsley are currently 18th in the table and go into the North End game having lost out to Leicester at the weekend.

Milan rule out Inzaghi exit

Striker frustrated at lack of playing time

Filippo Inzaghi has admitted he is considering his future but AC Milan insist he will not be going anywhere.
The veteran striker demonstrated last week that he can still compete with the best in the business even at the age of 37 by scoring two goals against Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League.
However, he was then left out of the side to face Bari on Sunday and concedes that it can be frustrating to not play regularly.
Inzaghi claims to have attracted interest from elsewhere and will mull over his options in the New Year if he is not getting more game time.
"My future? I want to be still important. I have received two offers and I am glad that someone still looking for me," he told Rete Quattro.
"I don't want to be employed only in moments of despair, but let us see in two months.
"I have an incredible affection for Milan but I still really want to play and I feel good."
