20.5 million pay TV subscribers in Russia

It is expected that Russia will end the year with 20.5 million subscribers of pay television services , according to preliminary data provided by IKS-Consulting and published by the ER-Telecom, one of the leading domestic cable operators. The value of pay-TV market in the meantime should exceed 33 billion rubles (about 3.26 billion zł). "Tricolor TV Satellite Service is a leading provider of pay-TV services with 5.36 million subscribers.
Then there are: NTK (cable) with 4.04 million, Comstar (IPTV and cable) with 1.86 million, ER-Telecom (cable) with 1.1 million and Akado (cable) with 1.06 million. IPTV has the highest ARPU (221 rubles). Far behind the service in this respect are cable TV with ARPU 149 rubles, and satellite TV - 130 rubles. Pay TV penetration in Russia is currently 40% , and the five largest suppliers have a combined market share of 66%.
