Viasat Broadcasting announced the return of three Russian channels to offer its platform in the Baltic countries. From 3 January 2011, local versions of channels of entertainment Pervyj Baltijskij and Ren TV channel and interactive music Pervyj Baltijskij Muzykalnyj will be available in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. Another Russian channel RTR-Planeta returned to the Viasat platform in the Baltic countries in November.
Channels are distributed by Baltic Media Alliance (BMA) and were withdrawn earlier this year following a dispute with Viasat on distribution fees.
