hOW TO ENTER A BISS KEY: from a newbie

Take a BISS key like this one:

B 1FFF 11676:11936:H 2912205B07311048 #RUSSIA 1 40E

How do you enter this into say a strong decoder?

I have ben reading and some say just enter the key (I presume 29 .... 48) in the BISS section and you are done. others say remove some digits from the key (7th&8th byte and 15th &16th byte) to make a shorter key and then in front of it put the hex of fregency, servId and PMTPID and enter the new numbers in the BISS section.

How exactly is this done?

put the keys only: 2912205B07311048
press exit,,,save..ok
enjoy.
u can put ccw and dcw key by the same way.

If you compare Zameer's explanation to Fidel's explanation you can see what my initial confusion was. zameer talks about SID, provider, and frequency plus key but Fidel talks only about the key. Is the difference to do with diferent decoders?

Mate,
if you have strong receiver like
srt4620ii,4620x,...etc...you can use my way.
please,say what's the model of your receiver to be clear with us.
I have 4620x,i put only keys without sid,provider or anything else.
try the two ways and tell us.

how to enter biss keys in openbox 9.... to add keys i can see other info required to add.. such as - CAID, ProvID, SID, PMT PID, ECM PID, EVEN CW & ODD CW... all i need to add constant.cw file...isn't it ?

But in a strong srt 4657 I have entered a BISS key as you said, but the top line of the keys list marked DISABLED keep unchanged, and is not editable, and of course nothing opens.
Is there something I did wrong ?
