Former ‘n’ chief Sojka to head Starmax HD Spanish pay TV venture

Spain is to see the launch of a new pay TV platform, Starmax HD, later this year. The service will be based on a pre-paid model with no contracts.

Starmax HD will be headed by Maciej Sojka, the former CEO of Polish pay TV platform ‘n’. The broadcaster is owned by Starmax España, an offshoot of UK-based Starmax UK.

Further information about the offering, including channels and prices, will reportedly be made available in the coming weeks.

Former NBC Universal Picture executive Alejandro Baquero will serve as chief financial officer and former Panasonic and Samsung executive Alfonso Noaim as head of sales.
