Ian Baraclough - former Scunthorpe boss.
WHARTON KEEN ON QUICK REPLACEMENT Scunthorpe chairman Steve Wharton hopes to appoint a successor to Ian Baraclough within "a matter of weeks".
The Iron are searching for a new boss after Baraclough was axed following Tuesday's 3-0 home defeat at the hands of relegation rivals Preston.
Brian Laws has been touted for a return to the Glanford Park hot-seat following his previous success in the job but head of youth Tony Daws has been named caretaker manager and will take charge for Saturday's match against Ipswich.
Wharton said: "We are reviewing the situation and hope to make an appointment within a matter of weeks."
Asked whether his side could avoid the drop, Wharton added: "We will certainly be doing everything we can to achieve that aim."
