G'dday everyone, I've just done a powerscan on AMC23 @ 172 E and have picked up two channels called news backhaul.One is vertical polarization and one horizontal.Sig strenth 87%-90 sig quality almost 100% but picture is coming in half scrambled as if sig was low.Has any one else had a look @ this sat? It says channel is free.

Hope you have more channels that, there are more there. Russia Today, (English-global channel) Other test channels. 12705v sr1778 (data?) 12694v sr6511, 12730v sr30800

Yes I do confirm, at the moment, 10 channels.

I would, however like to give you a little tip, if you are using a H - H motor for your dish. Normally the LNB "SKEW" changes from horizon to horizon. This is accounted for by the 30 to 40 Degree droop in the motor shaft.
However, because the Optus Satellites have a pre-set "SKEW" of about 30 Deg., when you go to other Satellites, you need to adjust the "SKEW" to normal. You can of course use an LNB with adjustable "SKEW", or do as I do. That is, put your LNB halfway(15 Deg.) if you have a strong signal. You are likely to get channels on both Horizontal and Vertical, usually not a big problem.
