Cairo, 15 May: The Arab foreign ministers Sunday evening [15 May] asked the Arab Satellite Communications Organization (Arabsat) to block the transmission of Jamahiriya Satellite Channel and any other channel loyal to Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi.
The request is based on the UN Security Council resolution 1973 imposing a no-fly zone coupled with sanctions on the Libyan regime, the ministers said at the end of their extraordinary meeting at the headquarters of the Arab League here.
The ministers and chief delegates discussed the latest developments of the conflict in Libya and asked the League’s Secretariat to oversee, and report on, the enforcement of their decision.
