    Carew - eyeing Stoke stay.
    CAREW FINISHED WITH VILLA

John Carew has set his sights on securing a permanent move to Stoke after insisting his Aston Villa career is over.
The Norwegian frontman joined the Potters in January after slipping down the pecking order at Villa but says he has no intention of returning to Villa Park after the weekend's season-finale.
"Aston Villa was a fantastic period of my life," the 31-year-old said. "I will go and watch them as a fan but not as a player anymore.
"I have a fantastic relationship with the fans and there will always be a place in my heart for them. I love the club immensely but my time there is finished.
"I want to stay in England. I love Stoke; the fans are fantastic and the changing room is amazing with world-class banter. We just have to see after the season."

Jens Lehmann - could play on.
    LEHMANN COULD STAY AT ARSENAL

Jens Lehmann has revealed he could remain at Arsenal beyond the end of the current season.
The former Germany goalkeeper retired at the end of last season but was persuaded to rejoin the Gunners in March after they suffered an injury crisis.
Lehmann accepted Wenger's offer to return to the Emirates and, despite only playing once since signing a short-term contract, he told German newspaper Bild he could surprise everyone by continuing in a playing capacity for a further year.
The 41-year-old said: "It was not really a comeback, but more of a last resort - actually more of a hobby.
"I took three weeks to get really fit - and then I had to play against Blackpool.
"I thought 'You can do it still. It is not forgotten'.
"From my performance I would be able to continue playing. My team-mates are always asking me if I'll still be here next season."
But even if he decides to retire for a second time the former Schalke, Borussia Dortmund and Stuttgart stopper is likely to remain in football as he continues working towards his coaching badges with England as a preferred destination once the course is completed.
"I can very well imagine a job in football. First, I'll probably end my trainer course," he said.
"When you have such personalities as Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United and Arsene Wenger at Arsenal, this (England) is the ideal solution."

Carlo Ancelotti - subject of intense speculation.
    KALOU NON-COMMITTAL ON ANCELOTTI

Salomon Kalou has refused to reveal whether he wants Carlo Ancelotti to remain as Chelsea manager next season.
Several Blues players have publicly backed Ancelotti, who looks set to lose his job this summer.
But striker Kalou, who has been in and out of the side this season, told Sky Sports News it did not matter who was in charge.
Asked if the players were behind Ancelotti, Kalou laughed before saying: "We don't make the decision. We're here to play for the club.
"We're happy to work with anyone. That's for the board to decide. The players are going to give their best on the pitch and that's the most important thing."
Kalou appeared upset at losing his place in the side to Fernando Torres for last month's game against Tottenham.
After coming off the bench to score a late winner, the Ivory Coast international could barely raise a smile and quickly left the field as his team-mates celebrated.
The 25-year-old, who has been a bit-part player since joining Chelsea five years ago, added of the managerial uncertainty: "It doesn't matter. For me, the most important thing is to stay as a team.
"Last year, we won the double and it was all the team. This year, if we don't win any competition, it'll be the same.
"I'm not looking for an excuse.
"It doesn't matter which players or who is the manager, the players have to be together and give a better performance."
Kalou is one of several Chelsea players facing an uncertain future at Stamford Bridge, regardless who is in charge.
Someone definitely on his way out this summer is Fabio Borini, who has confirmed he will not renew his contract once it expires.
The 20-year-old, who has spent the final two months of the season on loan at npower Championship play-off finalists Swansea, said: "It is a fact I will leave Chelsea, because I didn't renew the contract.
"I want to carry on playing and I would like to stay in England because it is the best football in Europe.
"Negotiations went wrong at Chelsea so we both chose to go away and let the contract expire.
"At the end of the season, they will get some compensation for me as a young player.
"But it is too early to think about the transfer window. I think about Wembley now and that is it."
Swansea are managed by former Chelsea youth-team coach Brendan Rodgers.
Borini added: "Brendan has been great and helped me a lot. He just got my confidence higher and higher, which is very important for a young player.
"I have known him since the first day I came to Chelsea. He was impressed by me and I was impressed by him.
"I knew him a lot from Chelsea and that is the main thing why I came here.
"When the manager knows you already it is a big point to start with. It is a big confidence boost and a big thing for you that a manager is positive about you.
"He is always available and is a good teacher for football and for life."

Massimo Cellino - still interested in West Ham.
    CELLINO MAINTAINS HAMMERS INTEREST

Cagliari owner Massimo Cellino has hinted he may renew his interest in taking over West Ham despite their relegation from the Barclays Premier League.
The Italian was in the running to takeover the cash-strapped Hammers in January 2010, before former Birmingham owners David Sullivan and David Gold took the reins.
Speaking of his previous takeover bid, Cellino admitted "things didn't go well in those days" but hinted a renewed bid could be in the offing.
"I was attacked by the journalists in order to justify a choice that has revealed itself to be unhappy for West Ham," he told Italian newspaper Gazzetta Dello Sport.
"The current owners have speculated with the affection of the Hammers' fans.
"They even tried to do housing business with the sale of the actual stadium.
"The West Ham fans are exceptional. I started this project because I was attracted by the atmosphere of the Hammers.
"This is why I'm so disappointed for this relegation. But it was predictable."
He added: "I am saddened for the West Ham fans. They did not deserve to be demoted. But if they want to I could take over the club even though they will be in the first division."

Daniel Sturridge - has impressed for Bolton.
    STURRIDGE WANTS FIRST-TEAM FOOTBALL

Daniel Sturridge has warned Chelsea that he will be forced to look elsewhere if he is not a first-team regular next season.
The 21-year-old striker has proven his Premier League pedigree during a loan spell at Bolton, notching eight goals in 11 appearances since his arrival in January.
That return is considerably better than the combined efforts of those still at Stamford Bridge, with Fernando Torres, Didier Drogba and Nicolas Anelka all struggling for form.
Sturridge, who will see out the campaign with the Trotters, hopes his efforts at the Reebok Stadium will convince Chelsea that he is worthy of a starting role in 2011/12.
It remains to be seen whether he will be granted that wish, with there still some confusion as to who will be in charge of the capital giants next term.
The England U-21 international has made it clear, though, to whoever is at the helm that he expects to be given games or he will seek another move.
"I want to play first-team football regularly for Chelsea Football Club," Sturridge told Sky Sports News HD.
"I love the club. I have been at the club now for a year-and-a-half and have been on loan at Bolton. I love playing football for Chelsea.
"I don't want to say I am going to leave the club, I want to play regularly, but for me next season it is very important to play first-team football.
"I want to play at Chelsea but if the chances don't come at Chelsea, then I will have to look elsewhere."
Pressed on whether he would look for another loan deal or a permanent switch, Sturridge added: "Whatever Chelsea's decision is. It's not for me to make that decision.
"The only decision I can make is that I want to play first-team football and that's the one that I choose to take. First-team football is very important for me next season."
While Sturridge has found himself deemed surplus to requirements by the Blues this season, he insists the 2010/11 campaign has been a productive one on the whole.
He said: "It's not frustrating at all. I'm enjoying my time at Bolton, it's been going great. I love playing for Chelsea Football Club and there is nothing else to say."
