Portugal's Communication National Authority (ANACOM) is trying to put an end to what are being called ‘disloyal’ the commercial practices that begun since analogue switch off.
These typically take the form of TV viewers receiving messages to the extent that in order to be able to get free-to-air channels they must subscribe to one of the country's pay-TV operators. The country's national free-to-air channels are RTP1, RTP2, SIC and TVI. Also there are the island channels such as RTP Açores and RTP Madeira.
ANACOM says that the practice must be banned immediately.
