Fire at OSN causes broadcast blackout

A fire at the OSN broadcast centre in Dubai yesterday caused the failure of a number of channels.
OSN subscribers were unable to view many channels after the incident, which the broadcaster claims caused no injuries to staff or facilities.
A power failure as a result of the fire has been pin-pointed as the cause of the issue, according to a statement from OSN and du.
“Work continues to restore the full service as soon as possible,” the statement read, adding that a range of channels, including Cartoon Network, CNN and Sky News HD were continuing to broadcast uninterrupted.
