Austria's national telco A1 Telekom Austria has extended the TV line-up on the IPTV platform on its ADSL broadband network.
The telco will launch twenty new channels to the basic package of A1 Kabel TV (formerly called aonTV) which now contains more than 110 TV channels. The platform also comprises 30 pay-TV channels and 10 HDTV channels.
Among the new additions are 14 foreign-language channels from countries such as Spain, Portugal, Poland, Hungary, Rumania, Russia and China. The foreign-language bouquet, which has thereby grown to a total of 33 channels, targets the around 1.5 million people in Austria with cultural roots in different countries in Europe or other parts of the world.
Further new channels onboard A1 Kabel TV's basic package are N24, Astro TV, Hip 90, MediaShop and ORF 2 Europe as well as regional channels Kärnten TV and Tirol TV. Salzburg Plus and Osttirol TV will follow in June.
The monthly subscription price of the basic package remains at €4.90. The precondition for signing up is a fixed-line telephone subscription from Telekom Austria which is available from €15.98 per month, plus the IPTV box which can be rented for €1.90 per month.
The customers can also access a video-on-demand service (VOD) offering more than 2,000 movies, series and TV programmes as well as 300 national and international radio stations and interactive information services such as weather, horoscope and news.
