Friedel - wins his Spurs at Tottenham.
    SPURS SNAP UP FRIEDEL

Tottenham have agreed a deal to sign American goalkeeper Brad Friedel.
It is understood the 40-year-old will sign a two-year deal with the north London club, where he will provide competition to their Brazilian number one Heurelho Gomes, who endured a tough season in which he committed a number of costly errors.
Friedel's contract at Aston Villa was due to expire at the end of the month and no transfer fee will be involved in the deal.
Manager Harry Redknapp said: "Brad is a top goalkeeper of real quality who has great experience.
"It is good to have three such experienced top goalkeepers at the club in Gomes, Carlo (Cudicini) and now Brad and it means we have competition for places particularly with the number of games we will hopefully face next year both domestically and in Europe as well."
Italian goalkeeper Cudicini last month signed a contract extension through to the end of next season, while Gomes has been linked with a return to old club PSV Eindhoven.
Gomes has made a number of high-profile mistakes during his time with Spurs. He fumbled a shot from Cristiano Ronaldo in a Champions League quarter-final defeat to Real Madrid at White Hart Lane in April and in the same month allowed a Frank Lampard shot to squirm away from him, although replays showed the goal should not have been awarded to Chelsea because Gomes was able to retrieve the ball before it crossed the line.
Friedel has a vast amount of Premier League experience.
He first moved to England in December 1997 when he joined Liverpool from Columbus Crew.
He started 25 league games for the Merseyside club before spending almost eight years at Blackburn. He moved to Villa in July 2008 and in December of that year he broke the record for consecutive top-flight appearances when he lined up for a 167th straight game.
Incredibly he has now extended that record to 275 matches and will be aiming to establish himself as Spurs' number one for the new season.
Aston Villa Chief Executive Paul Faulkner said: "I would like to thank Brad for the terrific contribution he has made at Aston Villa in his last three seasons here and our supoporters will no doubt echo these sentiments.
"We wish him well in the future and look forward to seeing him again at Villa Park."

Tevez - could stay at Manchester City.
FAMILY KEY TO CARLOS TEVEZ - AGENT

Carlos Tevez is content with life at Manchester City and is likely to stay if his family are happy to move there, according to agent Kia Joorabchian.
Tevez handed in a transfer request midway through last season amid reports that he was eager to leave England and be closer to his family who do not live with him, but later reversed that decision.
Despite being team captain and a key player in the team's surge towards Champions League football and the FA Cup, the Argentinean continued to be linked with a move abroad, either back home to Argentina or to Spain and many observers expected him to leave Eastlands this summer.
His representative Joorabchian has suggested that may not be the case, though, and believes the City skipper could yet remain.
"It's difficult to talk about offers. Carlos is a big player who will attract big clubs," he told Sky Sports News.
"(But) he personally has had a very good season at City. He's happy with the current situation at City.
"He's sorted out his problems with the directors at City, that was sorted back in December.
"I think it all boils down to his family. If they feel comfortable about moving to Manchester then there's every chance he will stay at Manchester.
"He was one of first to join this project. He had ambitions to get City to the Champions League and win to win a trophy.
"He has helped them do that."

Terry - the players would welcome Hughes.
HUGHES OR HIDDINK WELCOME - TERRY

John Terry admits it would be "great for Chelsea" if Guus Hiddink returns as manager - but the Blues skipper would also happily play under Mark Hughes who yesterday quit as Fulham boss.
England captain Terry is currently preparing for tomorrow's Euro 2012 qualifier with Switzerland but club matters were on the agenda when he conducted his series of pre-match press conferences at Wembley.
Terry was sad to see Carlo Ancelotti relieved of his duties at Chelsea, particularly after the strong support he offered Terry when stripped of the England captaincy two years ago.
But he also had a strong relationship with Hiddink during his short spell at Stamford Bridge during the 2008-09 season and also has respect for former Chelsea striker Hughes.
Terry said: "I was very sad to see Carlo go. He was a great man, a great manager and supported me a lot over the (England) captaincy.
"Having done the double for the first time in Chelsea's history, that is something that will live with the club, live with him and the players forever.
"We then pushed Manchester United so close for the title this season after being out of the race realistically for three months and before turning around that form.
"I was disappointed to see him go. It's out of the players' hands, it's a club decision, the manager and the players respect that.
"But we are looking forward to the new manager coming in and hopefully getting that trophy (the Premier League title) back."
Hiddink led Chelsea to victory in the 2009 FA Cup final and Terry is adamant he would have the support of the dressing room if he returns.
He said: "He came in for a short space of time and we won the FA Cup under him.
"I have great memories of him, he is someone I have been in contact with since he left the club.
"The players completely respected him. He knows the players inside out as well. He would be welcomed back.
"If it is to be him, then great, or whoever it is, the players will naturally get on with it and work very hard under the new manager."
Hughes had been expected to move to Aston Villa although the midlands club insist his resignation from Fulham was pure coincidence as they still search for a replacement for Gerard Houllier.
But Terry would have no qualms about the former Wales and Manchester City chief taking charge at Stamford Bridge.
He said: "Mark Hughes would have the qualities, I think he has shown that for sure, (he is) someone the club will hopefully be talking to.
"I know Mark and his background staff. The understanding of the club and what it means to the supporters will come naturally to those guys.
"If he is linked in, it will be welcome to the players."
Terry has often spoken of his own desire to manage Chelsea but is adamant that is a long way off.
He said: "That is the ultimate aim of course. I'm doing my coaching badges at the moment.
"But that is a long, long way away. I'll leave it to the rest of the guys out there at the moment."

    Sanchez - Inter link.
    INTER IN ALEXIS SANCHEZ TALKS

Inter Milan president Massimo Moratti is hopeful of signing Chile winger Alexis Sanchez from Udinese this summer.
The Nerazzurri are in talks with the Friuli outfit to acquire the 22-year-old, who is under contract with Udinese until June 2014.
Sanchez, who has been a reported target of Manchester City, has enjoyed a fine campaign with Udinese, scoring 12 goals to help the Bianconeri qualify for the Champions League next season.
Moratti said to Inter channel: "We are talking to Sanchez.
"I don't know how successful we will be.
"He is a player that has a lot of quality and with Udinese we have opened up negotiations.
"There is a 60% chance that he will arrive."
Moratti has also revealed his admiration for Palermo playmaker Javier Pastore.
However, they are unlikely to make a move to acquire the Argentina international, with Palermo having slapped a 50million euros price tag on him.
"Pastore is fantastic," Moratti said. "But I don't think it's possible to enter negotiations to acquire him."

Behrami - says West Ham should have kept Zola.
    BEHRAMI QUERIES ALLARDYCE CHOICE

Valon Behrami admits he would not want to play under Sam Allardyce at West Ham and claimed the club's demise began the day they sacked Gianfranco Zola.
Hammers co-owners David Sullivan and David Gold this week appointed Allardyce as manager following the east Londoners' relegation from the Premier League.
Some West Ham fans have expressed concern about the brand of football adopted by Allardyce at his previous clubs and Behrami, who quit Upton Park for Fiorentina in January, did little to allay those fears.
"I don't like to play that way," said the Switzerland international ahead of his country's European Championship qualifier against England.
"I like to play like Zola wants to play, every time with the ball, every time trying to be attractive as well."
Allardyce succeeded Avram Grant, who in turn took over from Zola after the Italian was sacked last summer despite managing to avoid the drop.
Behrami said: "They sacked him for no reason.
"We'd had a difficult season but we secured safety two or three games before the end of the season, even though we'd had a lot of difficult situations with the club and the takeover.
"All the team was with him. We felt that, with him as manager, we could improve. I know that is how I felt.
"So the players were very, very sad when they sacked him and the first day with the new manager was difficult to accept."
Grant never managed to win over Behrami.
He said: "It was a time when he had to change something, he had to bring something new. But he didn't give a thing.
"We tried to do a good job but what the players needed was a reaction.
"We needed something new and we didn't feel that we got it. We felt that the situation was the same, going down."
Grant appeared on the brink of losing his job at the turn of the year in a saga that was played out in the full glare of the public, the club's owners seemingly divided.
Behrami said: "I respect what the owners say, though, because they put their money in. They can do whatever they want.
"They have to see also, though, how the players react. What can happen is the team get upset and down."
Behrami kept tabs on West Ham after moving back to Italy.
"I was good friends with all the players and I still keep in touch with them," he said.
"I saw they were relegated and I'm very sad about that because there are good players there who always give 100%."
None more so than the talismanic Scott Parker, with whom Behrami will be reunited at Wembley on Saturday.
England midfielder Parker looks certain to quit Upton Park for one of the country's top clubs.
Behrami said: "Scott Parker is a great player - he's a complete player. He can run, he can fight, but he can play with the ball, he can score.
"Tottenham would be a good solution for him. It's a team that needs a player like this. In a team like this, he's going to be a very important player."
And despite the loss of Parker and his reservations about Allardyce, Behrami backed the former Bolton boss to get West Ham back into the Premier League.
"Allardyce is a good manager, a manager with personality - strong," he said, admitting Allardyce's approach could be a necessary evil next season.
"This is what West Ham need to get a good reaction. A big reaction.
"Avram was a good person but he left the situation to drift along too easily."

Re: Latest Transfer Update at 03-06-11

Henderson - reported £15million Liverpool bid.
    SUNDERLAND READY FOR HENDERSON FIGHT

Sunderland are bracing themselves for a battle to keep hold of prize asset Jordan Henderson with Liverpool hot on his trail.
Reports on Friday suggested the Merseysiders have made an improved £15million bid for the 20-year-old England midfielder.
The Black Cats were not commenting on the matter, but it is understood they are well aware of Liverpool's interest and remain unmoved in their stance that the player is not for sale.
Manager Steve Bruce has informally placed a value of around £20million on Henderson's head, an acknowledgement of the figure it might take to persuade his current employers to think about any offer.
However, the intention is still to place the Academy graduate at the centre of the club's plans for the new campaign and in the circumstances, Liverpool's interest in him is both unwelcome and potentially divisive.
The Reds' pursuit of striker Kenwyne Jones, along with that of Tottenham in January 2009, had the effect of unsettling the player, and while he ultimately stayed at the Stadium of Light after signing a new and improved contract, his form dipped and he was eventually sold to Stoke.
Sunderland will hope their interest in Henderson, who is currently away on England Under-21 duty, does not turn his head with the midfielder leading the way for a new generation of home-grown players on Wearside.
Speculation over the midfielder's future has been rife since his form for the Black Cats won him a regular starting berth two seasons ago and in November last year, his elevation to the senior England squad.
Manchester United and Manchester City have both been credited with an interest in him in the recent past, and Bruce is realistic enough to know that there could come a point at which an offer simply becomes too good to refuse.
That is exactly what happened with neighbours Newcastle when Liverpool placed £35million on the table for striker Andy Carroll and it remains to be seen whether
they are prepared to go high enough to tempt Sunderland to change their minds.
Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish has also been linked with a move for Bruce's skipper Lee Cattermole, whose time at the Stadium of Light has been blighted by injuries.
Far from looking to sell key players this summer, the manager has repeatedly spoken of his intention to add to his squad, and the list of names reportedly in his sights increased on Friday when United duo Darron Gibson and Wes Brown were thrown into the mix amid suggestions that they could be involved in a swap deal with Henderson.
Republic of Ireland midfielder Gibson's international boss, Giovanni Trapattoni, has repeatedly suggested that the player may need to move from Old Trafford if he is to get the regular football he craves, although he has shown little inclination to do so.
