Samir Nasri - Manchester City transfer target.
REPORT: MAN CITY CLOSE ON NASRI DEAL

Manchester City are closing in on a £20million swoop for Arsenal star Samir Nasri and a deal for Gael Clichy is also nearly done, Sky Sports sources understand.
The French midfielder has been heavily linked with a move away from the Emirates Stadium this summer, with a host of top European clubs thought to be chasing his signature.
He has yet to put pen to paper on a new Gunners contract, with his current terms set to expire next year.
Manchester United were previously tipped as frontrunners to secure Nasri's signature, but it seems big-spending local rivals City have now taken pole position in the race to sign him.
The Blues are also reportedly close to capturing Arsenal left-back Clichy, while Gunners captain Cesc Fabregas is expected to leave this summer, meaning manager Arsene Wenger could be left without several of his key players next season.
France international Nasri enjoyed an impressive campaign last season, but could not help the Gunners end their trophy drought, which has stretched over six years.
The 24-year-old arrived at the Emirates from Marseille in 2008 and has since notched up over 80 appearances for Wenger's side.
Wenger is due to gather his first-team squad together next week ahead of a tour to Malaysia and China.
The Gunners boss continues to give little away as to which players will be part of the group when they jet off in 10 days' time.
"We are in a waiting period, everybody is waiting that the other [club] moves," Wenger said in an interview with Alsace TV.
"Everybody has their cards in [their] hands, hoping for the big transfer.
"There is nothing moving yet. The period will me more active at the end of July when we will need to really strengthen the team."

    Sammy Lee - Liverpool exit.
    SAMMY LEE LEAVES LIVERPOOL

Liverpool assistant manager Sammy Lee has left his role at Anfield after the club confirmed his departure "by mutual consent".
The 52-year-old, a former player alongside current boss Kenny Dalglish, returned to Anfield in 2008 at the invitation of Rafael Benitez and retained his position as assistant in January when highly-respected coach Steve Clarke arrived to coincide with Dalglish's replacement of Roy Hodgson.
"We'd like to place on record our thanks for all of Sammy's hard work over the years and the contribution he has made to Liverpool," Dalglish told liverpoolfc.tv.
"He has always been a credit to the football club and a credit to himself.
"Everyone at Liverpool FC wishes him all the best in his future career."
Lee, who played 294 times for the Reds, winning three league titles and two European Cups, said: "I returned to the club in 2008 and I'm proud of the contribution I've been able to make since then.
"I want to wish Kenny, the players and the supporters all the best going forward."
Liverpool said in a statement they "will continue to analyse the requirements of their backroom team and will make further announcements in due course".

    Neil Warnock - hasn't resigned.
    QPR DISMISS WARNOCK RUMOURS

Queens Park Rangers have moved to quash speculation over Neil Warnock's future.
Warnock guided the west-London club back into the top flight for the first time in 15 years by winning the npower Championship last season.
However, rumours of his position being undermined by disagreements with major shareholder Flavio Briatore continue and there had been reports the former Sheffield United manager had quit Loftus Road.
However, Rangers issued a statement on their official website on Thursday to clarify the situation.
The statement read: "The club is aware of rumours circulating with regards to the future of QPR manager Neil Warnock.
"The club would like to make it clear that Neil Warnock has not resigned from his post and is continuing to work hard behind-the-scenes ahead of the R's return to pre-season training next week.
"We would once again advise QPR supporters to ignore idle speculation and reiterate that news is only official once it appears via our communication channels."
Warnock is said to have a transfer kitty of some £15million and the west London club have been linked with moves for free agent Jay Bothroyd, Blackpool striker DJ Campbell and Hull's Jimmy Bullard, while the future of influential Moroccan Adel Taarabt remains uncertain.
While the Rangers boss admits he has so far been frustrated in trying to push through deals for new talent, he remains optimistic ahead of the start of pre-season training.
"We have targeted a number of players during the last few weeks and although we have missed out on some, the board are continuing to work hard to assist me in bringing new additions to the football club," Warnock said.
"I am confident that we will have a few new players on board in the next couple of weeks."
Warnock also moved to dispel suggestions he was not happy at Loftus Road, adding: "With regards to my own position, I am really excited about the challenge that lies ahead next season and I can't wait for pre-season training next week."
QPR confirmed they will play Serie A side Cesena on July 27 as part of their trip to Italy.

Denilson - linked with AC Milan.
    DENILSON AGENT COOLS MILAN LINK

The agent of Arsenal midfielder Denilson has played down speculation linking his client with a move to AC Milan.
Reports in the Italian media have suggested the Brazilian, who joined Arsene Wenger's side in 2006, could be set for a switch to the San Siro this summer after failing to nail down a regular place with the Gunners.
But the 23-year-old's agent, Gerardo Santiago, has denied having contact with the Rossoneri or any other club.
He told calciomercato.it: "I know nothing of AC Milan's interest. I think at the moment these are only rumours.
"The only certainty right now is that Denilson will be at training with Arsenal on July 7. Are Spanish and other Italian clubs chasing him? Currently there are no negotiations.
"With Wenger we often talk about other issues, but we have never touched on the topic of a possible departure for Denilson."

Fiorentina are unhappy with Manchester United.
FIORENTINA OFFICIAL HITS OUT AT MAN UTD

Fiorentina sporting director Pantaleo Corvino has taken a swipe at Manchester United for convincing Italy Under-17 goalkeeper Pierluigi Gollini to leave the Tuscan outfit for Old Trafford.
Gollini revealed on Thursday he had accepted an offer to join United's academy.
Corvino says even more of his youngsters were targeted by clubs in England but elected to remain with the Viola.
A statement on the club's official website read: "Fiorentina sporting director Pantaleo Corvino has taken into consideration the comments made by player Pierluigi Gollini and is surprised by his decision.
"He takes the opportunity to thank players (Niccolo) Fazzi, (Saverio) Madrigali, (Leonardo) Capezzi, (Federico) Bernardeschi and (Luca) Lezzerini, who have decided to remain with the Viola club, not being lured by false illusions of English sirens in recent days.
"Of the 150 players that have decided to go abroad, no-one has been able to earn a place in the first team."
Italian defender Michele Fornasier joined United in 2009 from Fiorentina's youth section.

    Carlton Cole - Stoke target.
STOKE MUST UP CARLTON COLE OFFER

West Ham manager Sam Allardyce has told Stoke they will have to increase their offer if they want to sign striker Carlton Cole.
The Potters are reported to have made an opening bid of £3million, plus various add-ons, for the 27-year-old England international.
Allardyce accepts the Hammers have to look at balancing the books after their relegation from the Barclays Premier League last season but stressed players would not be allowed to leave cheaply.
"I believe at this stage that the offer is not good enough. It is not to the club's valuation," the West Ham boss told The Sentinel.
"We are keen to keep our key players. However, we have lost our Premier League status and our financial position has to be addressed.
"A part of that might be players are sold back to the Premier League, but only so long as that is right for our club."
