    Rose - new deal.
    DUO SIGN NEW SPURS DEALS

England Under-21 internationals Danny Rose and Kyle Walker have signed contract extensions with Tottenham until 2015 and 2016 respectively, the club have confirmed.
Rose, 21, burst onto the scene with a spectacular strike in Spurs' north London derby victory over Arsenal in April 2010, and went on to play 17 times on loan at Bristol City last season before featuring at left-back for Harry Redknapp's team in the final four games of the season.
Walker, also 21, impressed during loan spells with npower Championship winners QPR and Aston Villa last term, making a total of 38 appearances.
Another player who looks set to stay at White Hart Lane is Benoit Assou-Ekotto.
Quizzed about a possible summer switch to Paris St Germain, the 27-year-old Cameroon full-back told Sky Sports News: "I don't want to move to another club.
"If I have a good feeling with my chairman I will stay.
"I don't have a reason to move, even to play in the Champions League. We can do it with Spurs.
"We have done it once already, so why not again?"

    Mackail-Smith - joins Brighton.
    SEAGULLS WIN RACE FOR MACKAIL-SMITH

Brighton have pulled off a major coup by winning the race to sign Peterborough's Craig Mackail-Smith for a fee which could rise to a reported £3.25million.
Leicester appeared favourites to capture the sought-after striker, who has signed a four-year deal, while West Ham also had a bid accepted by Peterborough for the 27-year-old.
But the Seagulls have underlined their intentions for the forthcoming npower Championship campaign by beating the duo to Mackail-Smith's signature.
Mackail-Smith started out at Dagenhanm & Redbridge and moved to Peterborough for an undisclosed fee in January 2007.
He scored 99 goals for Posh during his four-and-a-half-year stay, including one in the 3-0 play-off final win over Huddersfield at Old Trafford in May.
Poyet believes the capture of Mackail-Smith "shows we want to go places".
He told the club's official website: "Some thought it was a done deal that he would be heading elsewhere, but we got the player which is good, as it shows that we want to go places, to do better.
"A signing like that can only help us as we try to bring more players in.
"He's a player that we can build our team around, which is why I was so keen to bring him here, and one of the most pleasing aspects for me is that we have signed him despite interest from some other big, big teams.
"When I first sat down with the chairman, Craig was at the top of my list, our number one target, so I'm absolutely delighted to have signed him."

Gary Cahill - linked with summer move.
    COYLE: STILL NO CAHILL MOVEMENT

Bolton manager Owen Coyle has challenged the Premier League's big guns to make a concrete offer for star man Gary Cahill.
The 25-year-old has long been tipped to leave the Reebok Stadium this summer, with Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger a known admirer.
Manchester City were also heavily linked with the former Aston Villa star, although Roberto Mancini's interest does appear to have cooled.
Cahill returned to training on Monday morning, with his future no nearer being clarified.
And whilst Coyle would love the England defender to stay, he is realistic enough to know what will happen once a suitable offer is received.
"If someone comes in with the right deal for Gary and the club, he would go with our blessing," said the Trotters chief.
"He wants to play Champions League football and there has been unbelievable speculation regarding him.
"There have been elite clubs who have noted their interest. It is up to them to take that forward.
"They need to make a concrete bid so the club can look at it, otherwise there is nothing to talk about. That is the frustrating bit.
"We don't want to lose him. Until such time as we have an offer to consider, we must focus on Bolton."
Coyle insists the uncertainty surrounding Cahill is not having a negative effect on his own transfer plans.
It is clearly obvious the defender's departure would leave a massive hole in a squad that looked set for a top-10 finish last term until they suffered a dreadful hangover after the FA Cup semi-final hammering by Stoke.
However, Coyle's plans do not revolve around one man.
"I don't have two lists of targets; one if Gary goes, the other if he stays. I have one, the players I believe can take this club forward."
Coyle is not being drawn on any attempt to bring Shaun Wright-Phillips or Robbie Keane to Bolton, preferring instead to concentrate on the new recruit he had already snared.
A Darren Pratley fan from his Bolton days, Coyle monitored the Swansea midfielder throughout last term, knowing his contract was coming to an end.
    Once it expired, Bolton pounced.
"Last summer, I made it public that I wanted a new contract," recalled Pratley.
"When I was on holiday, the chairman said he was in no rush to give me a contract. I was very disappointed with that.
"It dragged on throughout the season and after the final, I looked at what clubs were around and chose Bolton.
"I could have stayed in my comfort zone but I believe I am good enough to play in the Premier League."
Following the departures of Johan Elmander and Daniel Sturridge in the summer, Coyle makes no secret of the fact he needs more forwards.
He is dubious about the potential for bringing Sturridge back north, believing new Chelsea boss Andre Villas Boas might prefer to assess the England Under-21 star's talents himself.
Despite an impressive season with Porto, question marks hang over Villas Boas' ability to impose himself on an experienced Blues squad, some of whom are the same age as the 33-year-old.
Coyle already has an insight into the Portuguese. And he does not believe there will be a problem.
"Villas Boas is a tremendous addition to the Premier League," said Coyle.
"I know him well. I did my pro-licence with him and really took to him.
"He is a fantastic manager, who has achieved such a lot at such a young age.
"He has so many attributes. He will be a great fit with Chelsea.
"There is no doubt he will be a huge success."

Alvarez - looks set to join Inter Milan.
    ZAMPARINI: ALVAREZ WILL JOIN INTER

Inter Milan are set to beat Arsenal to the signing of Ricky Alvarez, according to Maurizio Zamparini.
The Palermo president was the man who revealed last week that Arsenal were set to win the race for the Velez Sarsfield midfielder.
Palermo had also been bidding for Alvarez, which seemingly gave Zamparini his insight and now he claims that he knows Inter's late bid for the player will be successful.
"We were close to signing [Ricky] Alvarez for half the price they will now pay for him but my colleagues took it easy and no agreement was reached," Zamparini bemoaned to Sky Italia.
"Where he will go? He was going to sign for Arsenal but Inter Milan made a move and that is where I believe he will go."
Velez have now confirmed that a number of clubs are keen on him and they name Roma, as well as Inter and Arsenal.
"Ricky Alvarez could be in England or Italy, because we are negotiating with several clubs in those countries," said Velez chief Fernando Raffaini.
"Until it is signed, nothing is confirmed, but many clubs are interested: Inter, Roma and Arsenal, for example."
