The Copa America football feast is being televised live to audiences in South Asia, South East Asia and the Middle East by India’s Neo Sports channel.
The event, which opened in Buenos Aires on Saturday (2 July), runs until 24 July in venues across Argentina. It showcases the national teams of those 12 Latin American countries which qualified for the world renowned event and will star – among others –Argentina’s Lionel Messi, who has been voted the world’s best footballer for two consecutive years for his feats at club side Barcelona.
"Copa America reiterates our commitment to showcase the best premium sporting action to the Indian viewer. The Copa America promises to fulfil the Indian football fan’s legendary romance with Latin American football,” Mautik Tolia, said executive vice president programming, Neo Sports Broadcast.
“It offers a not to be missed spectacular carnival over the next one month with the world’s best footballers - the likes of Messi, Kaka, Robinho et cetera competing against each other,” he added.
Neo Sports will use TV, print, internet and social media platforms to increase viewer interest for its coverage of the event, which is available – among other TV providers - via the distributors Star Hub, Dialog, Lanka Broadband Network, and Nationwide Bangladesh in South Asia, and ADD in the Middle East.
Live matches from Copa America are also being streamed on Google YouTube to viewers in over 50 countries at youtube.com/copaamerica.
