French TV channels’ gross ad revenues rose 12 % on the first six months on 2011.

According to research institute Yacast figures, TV ad revenues reached 4.3 billion and the biggest winners are DTT channels. Their revenues grew up 36.3% compared with 18.5% for cable TV channels.

The six leading free-to-air (FTA) channels (TF1, France 2 France 3, Arte, M6 and Canal+) saw their revenues going up 3.6 % to €2.69 billion. This in includes +2.1 % for TF1 (€1.59 million) and + 7.3 % for M6 at €756 million.

Over the six-month period, sponsoring revenues stepped back 10 % to €298 million.
