David Moyes - looking to strengthen his squad.
MONEY IS TIGHT, WARNS TOFFEES CHIEF

Everton chief executive Robert Elstone has urged the club's fans to be patient and insisted there is no lack of ambition at Goodison Park.
A poor start to last season scuppered the Toffees' hopes of challenging for a top-six finish in the Barclays Premier League and they have yet to strengthen their squad this summer.
A section of Everton's support have continued to criticise the hierarchy at the club and Elstone used his blog on the club's official website to hit back.
He wrote: "The squeeze on money is harder than ever (this summer). Despite that, there isn't a day that goes by without the manager and chairman discussing players coming and, yes, players going.
"At the same time, there isn't a day that goes by without discussions of how we can sell more season tickets, do new sponsorship deals or get better terms, or loan more money from our bank.
"Everybody is 'flat to the floor' looking for improvements, looking for money, looking for players.
"There's a lot of hard work behind the scenes, not being played out in public. The focus of all that hard work is the first-team squad.
"And, whilst we are not blessed with a transfer 'war chest', and we're acutely aware, as custodians, that the long-term security of the club is paramount, there is no lack of ambition nor endeavour anywhere in the club."

Cheick Tiote - not looking to leave Newcastle.
    TIOTE REJECTS TRANSFER TALK

Newcastle midfielder Cheick Tiote insists he is going nowhere amid speculation that Chelsea are on his trail.
The Magpies were forced to issue a denial that the Blues had made contact over the 25-year-old Ivory Coast international earlier this week, with the rumour mill suggesting he could be a target in the wake of Michael Essien's latest injury blow.
However Tiote, who joined the club in a £3.5million switch from FC Twente last summer and signed a new six-and-a-half-year deal in February after an impressive start to his career in England, is adamant he is staying at St James' Park.
He told the Evening Chronicle: "I am a Newcastle player and I will do my job in Newcastle.
"I have a contract and that is the most important thing for me. I'm happy - if I wasn't happy, I wouldn't have signed for six years."
The Magpies were swift to tie Tiote up in a long-term deal after he took to the Barclays Premier League in impressive style having being advised to move to Tyneside by former England and Twente boss Steve McClaren.
His combative style - he picked up 14 yellow cards - quickly established him as a crowd favourite and alerted the big guns to his talent.
Tiote's reassurances will be welcomed by supporters, although they will remember similar comments from striker Andy Carroll, who had also signed a new lengthy deal months before Liverpool made Newcastle an offer they could not refuse in January.
Some of the £35million the club received for Carroll is understood to have financed the midfielder's contract, and Pardew has insisted that the remainder will be re-invested, with Yohan Cabaye, Demba Ba, Sylvain Marveaux and Mehdi Abeid having been added to the squad already and another striker the overwhelming priority.
Tiote - who scored a stunning late equaliser in last season's remarkable 4-4 draw with Arsenal - and his team-mates are due to fly to the United States on Monday for a pre-season training camp which will include three games.

Josh McEachran - staying at Chelsea.
    DUO SIGN NEW CHELSEA CONTRACTS

England under-21 internationals Josh McEachran and Ryan Bertrand have signed new long-term contracts with Chelsea.
Midfielder McEachran, 18, has penned a five-year deal, while full-back Bertrand, 22 next month, agreed a four-year contract.
McEachran was part of the Blues' FA Youth Cup winning side in 2010, and has made 17 first-team appearances, including four starts.
Bertrand joined Chelsea from Gillingham in July 2005 and had productive loan spells in the npower Championship with Norwich, Reading and Nottingham Forest, returning to make his Chelsea debut as a substitute against Birmingham in April.
McEachran intends to work hard as he looks to continue to progress, telling the club's official website: "I need to keep working. This season my target is just to play more minutes.
"Hopefully I will play more games and keep improving."
Bertrand is in no doubt Chelsea provide a bright future under new manager Andre Villas-Boas.
He said: "It is a big commitment, I see the club going in the right direction.
"I want to stay here, it's the reason I came here six years ago and it's refreshing to have the new manager come in.
"I am looking forward to listening and learning from him.
"I can see the manager is young and hungry and wants to take the club forward so I want to be part of that and I thought it was best for me to stay.
"Obviously Ashley [Cole] is number one left-back but hopefully I can get a game here and there.
"I am aiming to get a few more games. I hope to stay here this season and hopefully catch the manager's eye."

Jose Enrique - looks set for Newcastle exit.
    JOSE ENRIQUE PROBLEM FOR PARDEW

Alan Pardew admits Newcastle's contract discussions with Jose Enrique have reached a stalemate.
The Magpies are keen to tie their Spanish full-back down on fresh terms, but have so far been unable to reach an agreement.
A lucrative package has been put to Enrique, but he has made it clear that he favours a move to a club that will be competing in Europe.
Pardew fears it is only a matter of time before he will be forced into a sale, with there little point in retaining the services of an unsettled player.
The same could be said for Joey Barton, who is also set to run down his contract at St James' Park, but Pardew claims it is Enrique who is most likely to be on his way out of the club.
He said: "The big difference between the two is that Joey seems pretty focused on Newcastle, whereas the noises coming out of Jose's camp are that he wants to get a new club playing Champions League football.
"Unfortunately we can't offer him that but that seems to be his focus. Hopefully that will change but we've offered him a massive contract which he does not want to sign, so it's a difficult position.
"There have been no concrete offers. But if he goes, it is going to leave a big hole in the team. It would need filling quickly."
While there seems to be little chance of Enrique committing his future to Newcastle, Pardew has refused to rule out the prospect of Barton agreeing fresh terms.
The midfielder is disappointed that the Magpies have so far refused to offer him an extension to his current deal, but that situation may change as the 2011/12 campaign unfolds.
Pardew said: "We are at a situation where we will play this season as it comes and we will all sit down at the end of the year and, who knows, we might do a deal then.
"You never know in this game. It's a strange business we are in.
"He's a good player, he's playing well for us and that's all I care about."

Alexis Sanchez - linked with Barcelona switch.
    MESSI HAILS 'SENSATIONAL' SANCHEZ

Barcelona star Lionel Messi is enthusiastic about the possible arrival of winger Alexis Sanchez from Udinese and believes he would add further quality to the Primera Liga champions.
The Chile international has been strongly linked with a move to Barca this summer.
"I know that Alexis Sanchez is a great player," said Messi as reported in Gazzetta dello Sport. "It would be without a doubt a sensational signing and it would be a great reinforcement for us."
Sanchez, who is under contract with Udinese until June 2014, is also a reported target of Manchester City.
Messi and Sanchez are currently competing in the Copa America with the respective countries.

Stewart Downing - completed Liverpool move.
    LIVERPOOL SIGN STEWART DOWNING

Liverpool have completed the signing of Aston Villa winger Stewart Downing for an undisclosed fee, the Anfield club confirmed on Friday evening.
The 26-year-old, who has been capped 27 times by England, becomes Kenny Dalglish's fourth summer signing following the transfers of Jordan Henderson from Sunderland, Blackpool's Charlie Adam and the acquisition of Brazilian goalkeeper Alexander Doni, which was confirmed earlier on Friday.
Villa confirmed earlier this week that Downing had submitted a formal transfer request and he travelled to Liverpool to discuss terms and complete a medical before signing a long-term deal at the club.
Downing, who moved to Villa Park for around £10million two years ago, had been a prime summer target of Liverpool manager Dalglish, who saw bids of £12million and £15million rejected before an agreement for an undisclosed fee, believed to be in the region of £20million, was struck.
Downing made it clear only last month, when on England duty, that he would not sign an extension with Villa, effectively forcing them to listen to offers.
Arsenal were reported last weekend to have joined the competition for his signature but Liverpool were always the front-runners, according to the player himself.
"It's a great feeling and I'm very happy to be here. It's been a long time coming and I've had to wait a few weeks, but I'm really pleased to be here," he told www.liverpoolfc.tv.
"With the tradition, the manager and the players they have here, there was a big temptation to come here and once I knew of their interest, there was only one place I wanted to go.
"It will be a great feeling to run out at Anfield. It's always nice to come and play here. The atmosphere is always great and the fans are brilliant.
"When I wanted to come to Liverpool, it was the first thing I thought of - playing at Anfield in front of those great fans. I'm really looking forward to it."
The idea of winning silverware on a regular basis also appealed to Downing.
He said: "It would be nice to win something. I'm sure that's the same objective for everyone, not just me personally.
"My aim is to be in the team, to play well and give something back because the manager has pushed the boat out to get me here, so hopefully I can give him something back.
"Getting a few goals and a few assists for the lads up front, that's what I'm hoping for."
