    Andre Villas-Boas - plotting evolution.
    EVOLUTION NOT REVOLUTION AT CHELSEA

Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas has assured his players there will be no radical changes at Stamford Bridge and promised evolution rather than revolution.
The 33-year-old was appointed as the west Londoners' new boss last month after impressing during a trophy-laden spell at Porto.
Villas-Boas has since been linked with a plethora of players, with Tottenham's Luka Modric and West Ham midfielder Scott Parker mooted as potential targets.
Young Genk goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois looks set to be the first new signing of the Villas-Boas regime after the Portuguese boss admitted on Saturday a deal was in place, although he was keen to stress no drastic changes will be made to the existing squad.
"I am still evaluating things at the moment," he said after watching his side defeat Portsmouth 1-0 in a pre-season friendly at Fratton Park.
"It is not that I have to change things radically and I will take it step by step.
"I think it is pretty obvious that we will go into the market at one time or the other but not with radical changes to the team.
"The team will keep itself (together) and most of the players.
"(On Saturday) it was important for us to show the fans the future of Chelsea and you could see that in the number of (young) players we had on the pitch.
"We had a 16-year-old (Nathan Chalobah) on the pitch - that promises a lot.
"He is English, he has a future and these are all things the fans must see."
The former Porto boss says he will evaluate players during their upcoming pre-season trip to Asia and admitted Daniel Sturridge could be one of those that may spend the season away from Stamford Bridge.
The 21-year-old enjoyed a thoroughly impressive spell with Bolton during the second half of last season and Villas-Boas intimated a similar kind of deal may be in the pipeline.
"This is one of the decisions we have to take," he said.
"Daniel is a very, very interesting player with a tremendous future.
"The individual is highly regarded by myself.
"I have 15 days in Asia to make the best decision and I need those four games to continue to assess.
"When we get back from Asia we have a week running into the Rangers game and I think from then on a decision will have to be taken to be ready for the first game of the season.
"Then again it does not mean that we won't be active after that, because the market always gets very frenetic in the last days and you never know what will happen."
It was put to Villas-Boas that the players must feel as though they are on trial at the moment, but he said: "No, I don't think so.
"I think the opposite because I gave them that flexibility from the beginning.
"Normally people would expect you to arrive at Chelsea and make radical changes and we are taking everything on board and making the right decisions.
"Again our arrival is much more about freeing these players and finding their talent rather than making radical changes."

    Neymar - Barcelona target.
    AGENT: BARCA IN FOR NEYMAR

Neymar's agent claims Barcelona are vying with Real Madrid for the player's services.
The 19-year-old Santos forward is one of the hottest properties in the summer transfer market. His agent, Wagner Ribeiro, insists a move to Madrid, long-standing admirers of the player, is Neymar's preference but that Barcelona are the more attractive option for his current club.
Ribeiro claims Barca are prepared to wait until after they and Copa Libertadores winners Santos have competed in the Club World Cup in December, which would enable Santos president Luis Alvaro De Oliveira to honour a pledge he made that Neymar would lead the team at the tournament in Japan before moving to Europe.
Ribeiro told www.as.com: "The exact situation is as follows: Barcelona want him next year and will pay next year, Madrid want him now and are prepared to pay now.
"The main problem is that the kid (Neymar) wants to play in the Club World Cup against Barcelona, and Santos are using their force to make him choose Barca.
"The numbers being talked about by both clubs (Madrid and Barcelona) are good, but Neymar would prefer a move to Madrid."
Ribeiro insists Neymar will make a final decision once Brazil's involvement in the Copa America is at an end.

Kevin Doyle - linked with Arsenal move.
    KIGHTLY: DOYLE FOCUS ON WOLVES

Michael Kightly says Wolves team-mate Kevin Doyle hasn't been affected by transfer speculation this summer.
The Republic of Ireland international has been linked with a big-money switch to Arsenal but he remains at Molineux and will be hoping to build on a return of nine goals last season.
The 27-year-old started his pre-season preparations with a fine goal in the 2-1 defeat at Crewe on Saturday afternoon and Kightly thinks that was just reward for his hard work.
"Kevin's a top, top player and sometimes he doesn't get the goals he deserves for his work-rate," he told Sportinglife.com after the match at Gresty Road.
"He deserves that and hopefully he can get many more for us.
"Kevin's not the type of person to let anything like that (transfer speculation) worry him or affect his game.
"He just gets on with his work and stays level-headed as he always does."
Defender Roger Johnson made his first appearance for Wolves since completing his move from Birmingham and Knightly thinks he will prove to be a tremendous acquisition.
"We know Roger's a top player," he added.
"He's had two good years in the Premier League with Birmingham and he's a great addition to the club.
"He's an ambitious person and a good character and hopefully he can help us push on."

    Taarabt - hot property.
    DERRY EXPECTED TAARABT EXIT

Shaun Derry admits he is surprised to find Adel Taarabt still on the books of Queens Park Rangers.
The Morocco international helped inspire QPR to promotion last season, with his enigmatic talents taking Neil Warnock's men to the Championship title.
Unsurprisingly, an impressive collection of stand-out displays have seen him draw admiring glances from afar, with a number of clubs reported to be chasing his signature.
Paris St Germain have led that hunt, with the Ligue 1 giants having already tabled a big-money bid.
Taarabt, though, remains at Loftus Road for now and could yet be persuaded to stay on for the 2011/12 campaign.
Veteran midfielder Derry admits that would be a welcome boost to all concerned, with few expecting the highly-rated 22-year-old to see out the summer at QPR.
He told talkSPORT: "I was surprised he came back. I thought he'd be gone in the summer.
"Last year he was incredible for us, he was absolutely fantastic at times and at other times he was terrible and that sums him up in a few words.
"On his day he can be by far the best player on the pitch and on his day he can be a liability.
"I'm sure the fans would love him to play a part this year and us players as well. If he can get his head right, it'd be a great bonus for us."

    Hadouir - uncertain future.
    HADOUIR STILL WAITING ON BORO

Roda JC winger Anouar Hadouir has not heard anything from Middlesbrough since discussing a deal with Tony Mowbray last month, according to his agent.
The 28-year-old is out of contract in Kerkrade this summer and had attracted the attention of several clubs, including Boro and a number of Roda JC's Dutch rivals.
Hadouir's agent, Hakim Slimani, claims he was offered a deal by Mowbray in June but could not agree terms and was asked to wait until after Boro had freed up some room in their squad.
There has been no further contact and, with Hadouir anxious to resolve his future, other options may have to be explored.
"Feyenoord are interested. We're still waiting for a response from Middlesbrough," Slimani told the Sunday Sun.
"Anouar went to Middlesbrough and met Tony Mowbray last month and was offered a contract.
"But the terms were not right, and the club said they would come back to us after they had managed to sell some players.
    "We haven't heard anything since."
