Sergio Aguero: Set to make Man City move
AGUERO COULD MAKE DEBUT IN DUBLIN

Sergio Aguero could possibly make a surprise debut in this weekend's Dublin Super Cup once his move to Manchester City has been confirmed.
The club are awaiting the completion of all the necessary paperwork with Atletico Madrid before signing off the £35million club record deal for the Argentina international.
While Aguero is still technically on holiday after playing in the Copa America and would not be required to return to training until next week, City have raised the possibility of him featuring in some capacity in Ireland.
The club have named 27 players in their squad for the matches against an Airtricity League XI and Inter Milan - coincidentally the club now being linked with a move for wantaway Carlos Tevez, the man Aguero has been brought in to replace.
However, City have also tantalisingly left one space open and it is among their strikers, with the list published on the club's website stating "plus one other" after naming forwards Mario Balotelli, Edin Dzeko, John Guidetti and Andrea Mancini.
Aguero, who happily signed autographs and posed for pictures with fans outside the Etihad Stadium, already considers himself a City player having completed a medical and negotiations after flying in to Manchester yesterday.
"I'm already a City player. Happy to be in this club and this city," he wrote on Twitter last night.
"Thank you all for the welcome and the reception!"

    David Dunn: High hopes
    DUNN SENSES BRIGHT ROVERS FUTURE

Midfielder David Dunn believes Blackburn Rovers have the potential to be a top-10 side this season, provided manager Steve Kean can add the new faces he needs.
Rovers lost 1-0 to Premier League rivals Aston Villa in the Barclays Asia Trophy on Wednesday, as an even encounter was decided by Darren Bent's goal three minutes after the break.
Kean has already revealed his desire to bring in a striker, midfielder and central defender after losing Phil Jones to Manchester United, while Jermaine Jones returned to Schalke following the end of his loan spell.
And Dunn feels with the right signings, Blackburn can set their sights on the right end of the table this season after narrowly avoiding relegation last term.
"If we keep strengthening, get a few more players in, maybe a midfielder and a striker, there's no reason why we can't finish top 10," he said.
"Who knows, if we start well and end well, there's no reason why we can't finish a little bit higher.
"I think Jase (Jason Roberts) did great last night as did Mauro (Formica) but I think it would be great for competition to bring in a real hungry striker that can score some goals and maybe a centre midfielder with a bit of experience as well.
"Last night I thought we played pretty well. In the humid conditions it was difficult, the pitch was little bit difficult at times, all in all that was somewhere near their first XI and we're still looking to add to our team.
"I feel pretty confident about this season, not over-confident but all the lads fitness-wise are really good and training's been going really well. I think if we can keep improving we'll be okay.
"Without saying too much, I think we controlled a lot of the game. Obviously they are good players so there was going to be times when we were a little bit stretched from when we were attacking and they broke on us, but I think if we can tidy that up a little bit, I think we'll do well."

    Deschamps: Wants to keep Lucho
    DESCHAMPS IN DARK OVER LUCHO

Marseille coach Didier Deschamps is unsure of his chances of keeping midfielder Lucho Gonzalez at the club.
The Argentinian is keen to leave the Stade Velodrome for pastures new and has been linked with ambitious Primera Division outfit Malaga, but featured in last night's Trophee des Champions thriller, which OM won 5-4 having trailed Lille 3-1 after 85 minutes.
Deschamps insists the 30-year-old will continue to be a part of his plans as long as he remains at the club, but said: "Keeping him? That is not up to me.
"It changes nothing. I wouldn't want to leave a player like him on the bench. He will give his all to help the team perform as best they can.
"While he is here, I will use him."

    Tiberi: Signs for Ajaccio
    AJACCIO SNAP UP DUO

Newly promoted Ajaccio have completed the double signing of Brazilian striker Ilan and Sedan wideman Damien Tiberi.
Ilan has signed a one-year contract with an option for a further season and returns to Ligue 1 after an 18-month absence, having spent the latter half of the 2009-10 campaign on loan at West Ham before returning to his homeland with Internacional Porto Alegre.
He has been without a club since parting company with the latter in December.
He told ACA's website: "I had other offers but I made my mind up 10 days ago. I wanted to come here because the contact I had with the coach and the directors was good and I felt they really wanted me to join the club.
"I have already been in contact with several of the players - you know, in football, that everyone knows everyone - though I know some particularly well, such as Thierry Debes, Carl Medjani, Frederic Sammaritano and Fousseni Diawara."
Tiberi, who can operate anywhere up the left flank, has signed a three-year deal with the Corsica-based club and said: "It gives me great pleasure and I am very proud and honoured to wear the Ajaccio jersey.
"My personal objective is to play as many games as possible and gain experience. The aim for the team is to survive in Ligue 1, it will be a difficult season."

Alan Knill: Looking to boost Scunthorpe's squad
KNILL WANTS MORE FROM IRON TRIALISTS

Scunthorpe manager Alan Knill says trialists Gavin Gunning, Kieran Djilali and Dominic Green need to do a "bit more" if they are to earn contracts with the club.
Blackburn defender Gunning and former Crystal Palace winger Djilali both started in the 2-0 pre-season win over Rotherham on Wednesday night with ex-Peterborough midfielder Green introduced as a second half substitute.
Knill was pleased with the performances from the trio but they still need to shine if given the chance in Saturday's final warm-up clash against Barnsley.
"I thought they did OK," Knill told Sportinglife.com.
"Gavin Gunning at left-back did really well, Kieran started well but just tired a little bit towards the end and Dom came on and showed he's a good footballer.
"We just need a bit more from them.
"We'll make a decision after Saturday and then we can concentrate on what is the squad."
Knill was pleased with the Iron's win at the Don Valley Stadium after some disappointing results in their pre-season campaign.
    "I'm delighted," he added.
"I thought we were excellent in the first half. I think the biggest thing was we stopped them from playing.
"It's been quite frustrating but two games to go before the season starts to put in a performance like that gives us all a lift."

    Eustace: New deal
    EUSTACE SIGNS NEW CONTRACT

Watford skipper John Eustace has signed a contract extension until 2013.
The 31-year-old midfielder's previous deal was due to expire next summer.
Eustace moved to Vicarage Road from Stoke for £250,000 in 2008 and has made 119 appearances for the Hornets, scoring 12 goals.
He grabbed Watford's first goal of last season in their surprise opening-day win at Norwich and went on to make 42 appearances, netting six times.

    Hansen: Bradford loan switch
    HANSEN JOINS BANTAMS ON LOAN

Bradford City boss Peter Jackson has signed Danish goalkeeper Martin Hansen on loan from Liverpool.
The 21-year-old shot-stopper was part of Liverpool's victorious FA Youth Cup side in 2007 after joining from Brondby the season before.
He recently travelled to Asia with the Reds as part of their pre-season tour and will now join the Bantams for an initial month.
Bradford boss Peter Jackson was delighed to land the 21-year-old with the possibility of the loan being extended beyond the initial month.
"Martin will be joining us on a month's loan with a view to extending the deal if all goes well," Jackson told the club's official website.
"I'd like to thank Liverpool for their help in making this deal happen.
"It's a position (goalkeeper) that I have been looking at since the start of pre-season.
"I am delighted that Liverpool has agreed to let Martin come here and that Martin has agreed to work with us.
"Martin comes here with a good pedigree and I am sure he will be a great success."

Afellay: Has been linked with a Spurs move this summer.
    AFELLAY QUIET OVER SPURS LINK

Barcelona playmaker Ibrahim Afellay is keeping quiet over rumours linking him with a move to Tottenham.
The Netherlands international arrived at Camp Nou from PSV in January but has struggled to force his way into Pep Guardiola's first team.
Spurs are thought to have made the 25-year-old a target this summer, with reports suggesting they have tabled an offer.
And while Afellay insists he is focused on Barca, the Dutchman stopped short of denying that Tottenham have made a bid.
Asked if the speculation was true, he told AS: "Look, if there is anything that is clear it's that rumours are part of football and we must learn to live with them, but now I'm just focused on Barcelona.
"I'm aware (of the reports) because I read the information arriving from England. People call you and say they have seen such a thing."
Afellay, who is tied to a four-and-a-half-year contract at Barca, has also reportedly attracted interest from Juventus and Lazio this summer.
But the midfielder insists he is happy with the European champions and keen to secure more regular first-team action.
"It's perfect. I feel happy. On a sporting level, I hope to express my potential," he added.
"(Playing more) is my intention, of course. I want to play as much as possible."

Bendtner: Expected to make Sporting switch.
    BENDTNER CLOSE TO SPORTING SWITCH

Nicklas Bendtner is set for a fresh start away from Arsenal as the Denmark striker closes in on a £9million move to Sporting Lisbon.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger last week revealed the 23-year-old had been given permission to miss the friendly against Cologne and training camp in Germany "to sort out his future".
Bendtner, pushed further down the pecking order following the £11million arrival of Ivory Coast forward Gervinho, was photographed in Portugal and is expected to push through the formalities of his move over the weekend.
Two other Arsenal players who look set to miss the Emirates Cup - which will see former Gunners striker Thierry Henry return to the club with New York Red Bulls - are captain Cesc Fabregas and England winger Theo Walcott.
Fabregas, who remains the subject of a £30million transfer bid by Barcelona, has not featured at all during pre-season, training with the youth squad this week as he works on a hamstring injury, which, officially at least, has been the reason for his extended absence.
Walcott, meanwhile, was sent home early from Germany because of a niggling ankle complaint, with the results of scans expected to reveal whether or not the England forward will be in contention for the start of the new domestic season in a fortnight.
With Bendtner's departure set to follow that of long-serving defender Gael Clichy, Wenger is likely to quickly reinvest those transfer funds, which could be boosted by a further £4million should Emmanuel Eboue join Galatasaray.
Valencia's Juan Mata has long been on the Arsenal manager's radar, and his £15million signature would go some way to offsetting the impending departure of Fabregas, as well as guarding against the uncertain future of contract rebel Samir Nasri.
A centre-back is also high on Wenger's wanted list, but Arsenal will have to significantly increase their £10million offer to test Everton's resolve over England international Phil Jagielka.
Blackburn's Christopher Samba would be a cheaper option and has made it clear he would relish a move to the Gunners, with the chance of Champions League football.
Feyenoord sporting director Martin van Gael confirmed Arsenal are looking to push through Ryo Miyaichi's 'special talent' work permit application, after the Japan youngster impressed when linking up with the first-team squad for the Asia tour on the back of a promising loan spell in Holland.
Wenger, though, insists his squad only needs minor tinkering to get them over the line in 2011-12, having fallen apart spectacularly following defeat in the Carling Cup final to Birmingham at Wembley.
Midfielder Andrey Arshavin agrees. Speaking in the Emirates Cup souvenir programme, the Russian said: "I think we will get stronger and stronger.
"In particular I think our work on set-pieces, both attacking and defending, will be better.
"We will also play a pressing game - if we do that well, I am sure you will see an improved team."
