    Question Noob, Which Sat Box?

Hi I am kinda new to the site and the satellite scene. I was wondering which is the best box to start with.

I'm looking for a box to pick up FTA and possibly a bit of sharing, also the cheaper the better.

    Thanks in Advance.

    Harry

    vu+ is most cheaper.

It is just the same VU+DUO with only one tuner.

It it 100% O.K. and you can make meoboot with

    BH 1.7.3 in flash.

It really depends on your budget, however in my opnion stay away from anything closed source and sub < £100.... you would regret them in the long run.
Currently the most popular choice is the VU+ Solo (Single Tuner) & VU+ Duo (Twin Tuner). I bought a clone duo from satstore.tv best decision I have made in ages!

As an introduction, I would go for the Openbox too, dirt cheap nowadays(but beware of clones). Simple to use and can be easily used for CS. Won't be long before you are craving something more taxing though LOL, like a VU+ for example.

    Re: Noob, Which Sat Box?

Everyone says beware of clones but I think this is too much of a generalization. I have had 3 original DM boxes and had troubles with two of them (mainboard fail in one, PSU failures in two). I had a couple of really cheap clone 500 boxes that never failed. If was about to buy something now I would look at one of the "branded" clones from a dealer that will give you support or maybe a Mipsel box like Gigablue or similar. That way there will always be plugins etc that you can use.
