Park Chu-Young: Set for Arsenal move
    ARSENAL SWOOP FOR PARK CHU-YOUNG

Arsenal are poised to sign South Korea captain Park Chu-Young from under the noses of Lille, according to reports.
Monaco striker Park is set to undergo a medical in London in the next 24 hours with a view to completing a move that could be worth in the region of £10million.
French champions Lille were convinced they had all but wrapped up a deal for the 26-year-old before Gunners boss Arsene Wenger swooped.
Reports suggested Park had agreed terms with Lille and had completed the first part of a medical but failed to show up for the second part after Wenger came calling.
Lille president Michel Seydoux told BBC Sport: "We haven't had a telephone call, nothing.
"From what we understand he could be at Arsenal."
He added: "Like Monaco, Lille are baffled," added Seydoux.
    "Everything had been agreed."
Arsenal have also been linked with Lille's Eden Hazard and it remains to be seen whether their move for Park will have soured their relationship with the French club.
Park, who had previously been linked with Fulham, would become Wenger's fifth summer signing and help offset the loss of Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri.
He scored an own goal in South Korea's 4-1 defeat by Argentina at the last World Cup, but redeemed himself in their next match against Nigeria by scoring a free-kick in a 2-2 draw, a goal which helped his country advance to the last 16.

    Young: Heading back to London
    LUKE YOUNG JOINS QPR

QPR have completed the signing of Aston Villa right-back Luke Young for an undisclosed fee.
The 32-year-old becomes the second signing at the Rs since AirAsia boss Tony Fernandes completed his takeover of the club last week.
Newcastle midfielder Joey Barton joined the west London club and Young has now followed suit by penning a three-year deal.
"I am ready for a new challenge," he told the club's official website.
"There are big things that are going to happen at this football club and I am really pleased to be a part of it.
"Myself and Joey signing here shows the intent of the club.
"I am really looking forward to getting started and pulling on the blue and white shirt."
Young begun his career at Tottenham, before spells with Charlton, Middlesbrough and Villa.
The Harlow-born defender has won seven England caps during his career and QPR manager Neil Warnock believes he is a great addition to the squad.
"I've been looking for a defender with vast Premier League experience for a while now and Luke certainly fits the bill," he said.
"He can play anywhere across the back four and that versatility will stand us in really good stead.
"Moving back home to London will also serve him well and I'm really looking forward to seeing him in action for us - he's got so much to give and his experience will be vital."

Joey Barton watches QPR's defeat to Wigan
    WARNOCK: BARTON CAPTURE A SURPRISE

QPR boss Neil Warnock says he is "amazed" he has managed to sign Joey Barton from Newcastle having expected a bigger club to have come in with a late offer for the midfielder.
Barton watched from the directors' box at the DW Stadium as his new club were undone by a brace of goals from Wigan's Argentinian striker Franco Di Santo.
Warnock said: "I have to say I didn't think I'd get Joey if I'm honest. I expected one of the better clubs to have a gamble on him. I think he should be playing at the top."
Warnock said his side needed Barton's combative influence in midfield and said he would ask his new star to instil his winning mentality into others.
Warnock said after the defeat at Wigan: "When you need Joey Barton is when you are 1-0 down today. You need someone to grab somebody by the throat and say 'let's get going' - in a nice way.
"I'm hoping Joey can bring that to the club. I think he can get more out of players because he wants to win all the time. I'm looking forward to working with him."
Warnock also confirmed the signing of Luke Young from Aston Villa on a three-year deal, adding that he hoped Barton and Young would be among "five or six" new faces before the deadline.
Warnock added: "I'm pleased with the effort they put in today. I thought they were fantastic and I told them I couldn't ask for more. If we'd scored first we'd have won the game."

    Izaguirre: New deal
    DUO PEN NEW HOOPS DEALS

Celtic have announced that Emilio Izaguirre and Charlie Mulgrew have signed contract extensions which will see them remain at Parkhead until at least 2015.
The Honduras left-back, currently recovering from the fractured ankle he suffered against Aberdeen at Pittodrie earlier this month, is delighted with his new deal and looks forward to returning to action.
"This is a great honour for me and something I was very happy to do," he told the Celtic website.
"Since coming to Celtic I have been given a magnificent welcome and enjoyed my time very much. "It was very disappointing to suffer such a serious injury at Aberdeen and again I thank the club and the fans for all the support they have given me.
"However, I accept that injuries can be part of the game and now my only focus is to get back fit and playing again for Celtic.
"This is something I want to do as soon as possible and I am already working hard on regaining my fitness. "I hope to re-join my team-mates as soon as possible and again work hard on bringing success to our fans."
Versatile Mulgrew re-joined Celtic last year, having started his career with the club.
"I am thrilled to have extended my contract with the club," he said. "I know this might sound like a cliche, but this is the only place I want to play my football.
"As a Celtic supporter, it has given me enormous pride to pull on the green and white hoops, and that's something I want to do for many years to come.
"I know that recent results have been very disappointing, and we want to get back to winning ways as soon as possible, starting with tomorrow's game against St Mirren.
"The support all the players and the management get from our fans is incredible, and we want to reward that in the best way possible, by ensuring that the league title returns to Celtic Park."

Owen Hargreaves: Offered to play for free
HARGREAVES OFFERED TO PLAY FOR FREE

Owen Hargreaves claims he offered to play for Manchester United for free this season before finally accepting that his injury nightmare had ended his Old Trafford career.
Hargreaves was a £17million signing from Bayern Munich in 2007, but managed just 39 appearances over four seasons as he battled persistent knee problems.
His long-awaited comeback against Wolves last season was cut short only minutes into the game due to a torn hamstring and the club have cut their losses, releasing the 30-year-old as a free agent this summer.
That was only after Hargreaves did everything he could to persuade Sir Alex Ferguson to keep him
"At one stage I did offer to play for nothing this season, just to stay on," he said in the Daily Mail.
"But they said, 'You don't want to do that' and they were probably right."
He added: "I don't blame them for letting me go. I can understand it. There comes a point when you have to say this hasn't worked out. The game has moved on. See you later, all the best."
Hargreaves has travelled the world to receive treatment on his knee, and famously published videos on YouTube to try to demonstrate his fitness to play.
Hargreaves said he used the internet because he does not employ an agent and found it to be the easiest way to pass information to clubs who might be interested in him.
"It ended up on YouTube because the files were too big to email to specific people, specific clubs," he said.
"So I put them on YouTube so they could see it. I know it became a bit of a story when people found it in the public domain but I don't really care. No big deal."
The videos seem to have worked, however, as Hargreaves has now attracted interest from West Brom and he believes he can play his way back into England contention once he does sign for a club.
"I'm going to blow people away," he said.
"I'm coming back believing I can return to the level I was at before. My body feels great and my knees are perfect.
"I've just got this huge chip on my shoulder because I've been out for three years and people think I'm dead and buried...
"But right now I'd like to think I can play 40 games this season and with the right care, I believe I can train every day. I hope to be back in the England side for the European Championships next summer.
    "You have to have ambition."
