MPEG-4 and MPEG-2 technology provider ATEME has announced that the KFE file-transcoding product has been tested for interoperability within the Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2).

The software can now be installed and licensed directly by customers for use with the Amazon EC2 cloud in conjunction with the ATEME cloud-install application guide and easy-to-use command line install application.

“Service providers, content owners, and cable TV providers now require highly elastic processing resources to handle the growing transcode transaction load required by Multi-Screen video applications,” explained Rémi Beaudouin, Director of Product Marketing for ATEME.

KFE is part of the ATEME’s TITAN software transcoding family. The processing solution produces high bandwidth efficient content for delivery to Television, mobile and internet screens. KFE is currently used worldwide by customers such as DirecTV, Orange or Japan’s NHK.
