McFadden: Linked up with Wolves since Monday
    McFADDEN TRAINING WITH WOLVES

Striker James McFadden is in training with Wolves as he looks to rebuild his career after being released by Birmingham.
The Scotland international is a free agent after an option was not taken up on his Blues contract when it expired this summer.
The 28-year-old has linked up with Wolves since Monday.
McFadden has been sidelined since suffering damaged cruciate knee ligaments 13 months ago against Liverpool.
Wolves boss Mick McCarthy recently indicated he would willing to look at any free agents if they fitted the bill.
McFadden joined Birmingham in January 2008 and made 88 appearances, scoring 14 goals.

    Ranieri: Signs a two-year deal
    RANIERI PICKED FOR INTER JOB

Inter Milan have placed their faith in Claudio Ranieri to transform their fortunes following a dismal start to the season.
The Italian, 59, was named the new Inter boss on a deal until June 2013 just a day after they dismissed Gian Piero Gasperini.
Gasperini was only appointed in June but failed to win a game in a short but disastrous spell and leaves with the club 15th in the Serie A table. His final match in charge was Tuesday's shocking 3-1 defeat at newly-promoted Novara.
Ranieri, who has developed a reputation as a football fire-fighter, and will lead his players into battle for the first time at Bologna on Saturday.
A club statement confirmed the widely-expected news this morning. It read on Thursday: "Claudio Ranieri is officially the new coach of Inter.
"Ranieri has signed a contract with Inter until June 30, 2013.
"All of Inter has the pleasure of welcoming Claudio Ranieri and his staff.
"Ranieri will guide today's training session and will be unveiled tomorrow to the press."
Another battle-hardened Serie A veteran, former Roma boss Carlo Mazzone, is confident Ranieri is the right man for the job.
"I am saddened for Gasperini but football is like that," said Mazzone.
"Ranieri is ready, he knows the league well, has experience and has charisma.
"I always say that a coach that has experience has an advantage.
"Ranieri, with respect to Gasperini, has coached important teams and that gives him a better understanding of the game."
Ranieri, however, has never won the Italian Scudetto and that is a must at a club that has dominated Serie A football in recent years.
Inter, who finished runners-up in the league last season to AC Milan, had established themselves as the leading side in Italy with a run of five league titles under Roberto Mancini and then Jose Mourinho.
Mourinho's two-year stint was all the more impressive as in his second season in charge (2009-10), Inter won a Serie A, Coppa Italia and Champions League treble.
After Mourinho decided to leave for Real Madrid, Inter appointed Rafael Benitez but then sacked him in December and brought in Leonardo.
After a runners-up finish, Leonardo decided to accept an offer to become the sporting director at Paris St Germain.
Chile coach Marcelo Bielsa and Fiorentina boss Sinisa Mihajlovic both turned down the chance to take over at the San Siro before the club surprisingly appointed Gasperini, but his time in charge was characterised by baffling formations and poor results.
President Massimo Moratti will be hoping the arrival of Ranieri, Inter's fifth coach in the last 15 months, will bring some much needed stability.
He has been out of work since leaving Roma earlier this year but has great experience of taking over clubs in similar positions.
Ranieri joined Parma midway through the 2006-07 campaign and managed to steer the relegation-threatened club to safety.
The following year he led Juventus to a third-placed finish just one season after the Turin giants had been competing in Serie B.
After being sacked by Juve the following May, Ranieri was put in charge of struggling Roma six months later and guided his home-town club to a runners-up finish in Serie A behind Inter.
Ranieri, speaking before the announcement was made official, said: "It's been a bad start to the season for Inter and I will talk to the team to understand why that was.
"I will have to bring enthusiasm and change gear in order to wake up the team.
"I cannot promise that we will win this or that but I believe this team has a lot to give and we must prove it."

Gary Cahill: Linked with Arsenal move
    COYLE EXPECTS MORE CAHILL INTEREST

Bolton manager Owen Coyle would not be surprised if Arsenal made another bid to sign star defender Gary Cahill during the January transfer window.
Cahill was at the centre of some irritation between the Gunners and Saturday's opponents Bolton last month after lodging what Coyle felt was a 'derisory' bid for the England international.
Despite a widespread expectation Cahill would eventually move on, when September arrived he remained at Bolton, and will be part of the squad Coyle takes to the Emirates Stadium this weekend.
However, it is by no means certain he will stay at the Reebok for the rest of the season.
With neither Arsenal, nor another potential suitor, Tottenham, looking comfortable at the back, Coyle realises further approaches can be anticipated.
"I wouldn't be surprised if they came back," he said.
"Arsene has always said he is an admirer of Gary Cahill. But the clubs never agreed a fee."
It does provide Cahill with an additional incentive this weekend, although Coyle does not agree it is a question of proving Wenger wrong - more a case of emphasising the talent he already knows exists.
"Gary has nothing to prove," he said.
"He is a top performer, who is set for a glittering career."
After developing a personal relationship close enough for Coyle to secure the services of Jack Wilshere during the early part of 2010, it did appear the Cahill saga had caused some tension between the Bolton boss and Wenger.
Coyle insists that assessment is not true.
And he is adamant there will be no friction between the dugouts on Saturday at a time when Wenger is under more pressure than he has ever experienced at Arsenal.
"The only tension will be that we both want to win the game," he said.
"In fact, the criticism Arsene has received is absolutely ridiculous.
"He is one of the best managers in world football. Always has been. Always will be.
"The nature of the league we are in, with its global coverage, is that everybody has an opinion and sometimes there will be criticism."
What Coyle cannot understand is why Wenger is receiving so much stick when he is operating with a budget far smaller than the likes of Manchester City and Chelsea and has been responsible for producing football few would argue has been the best in the entire Premier League set-up.
"If someone asked me which team I wanted to go and watch, I would choose Arsenal," he said.
"The way they play football is so pleasing on the eye. They have unbelievable players. They have pace. They are dynamic. Free-flowing.
"The one gripe is that they are not winning trophies but they had a bit of bad luck with the Carling Cup last year.
"But sometimes people have to be careful what they wish for.
"Arsene Wenger is an outstanding manager. There is no doubt in my mind he and Arsenal are a perfect match."
After losing four games on the trot after an opening-day success at QPR, Bolton must get their season back on track quickly.
They received a major boost on Tuesday when Stuart Holden returned after a six-month absence in the Carling Cup win at Aston Villa.
However, the United States midfielder did not train today and Coyle is cautious about demanding too much, too soon from the 26-year-old.
"Stuart has come out of a tough game having been out for six months," said Coyle.
"We hope he is fit but we have to make sure we don't put him in a situation that is harmful."

Sol Campbell: Not set for Swansea news
    RODGERS REJECTS SOL CAMPBELL LINK

Swansea manager Brendan Rodgers has dismissed speculation linking the club with a move for Sol Campbell.
A report in a national newspaper had suggested the Swans would move to bring in the 37-year-old former Arsenal and Tottenham centre-half, who is currently a free agent, as Rodgers looks to counter a lack of defensive options due to the unavailability of Alan Tate, Steven Caulker, Darnel Situ and Rafik Halliche.
But Rodgers insists there is no truth in the link to Campbell.
He joked: "Yeah, I am meeting at three o clock. No, there is nothing at all (in that)."
But Rodgers is hopeful of putting a deal in place for trialist Zoltan Liptak, who has trained with Swansea this week.
The 26-year-old Hungary defender is available after leaving Videoton.
"We are taking the chance to look at players who could come in and add to our squad," said Rodgers.
"He wants to play, is an international player with a bit of experience and he has shown up well at training.
"He is a player who has not played a great deal and we hope he can do well. He hasn't played a game since his last international for Hungary in Sweden, but I want to give him every chance to prove he is capable of coming into the squad."

    Keith Southern: Extends Blackpool stay
    NEW BLACKPOOL DEAL FOR SOUTHERN

Blackpool midfielder Keith Southern has agreed a new one-year deal with the club.
The 30-year-old has been a long-standing member of Ian Holloway's side after joining from Everton in 2002 and his new contract will enable him to mark his career with a testimonial.
"I moved away from home at 16 and the thought of uprooting again at the end of the season was quite scary," Southern told the club's official website.
"I didn't want to go through that again because I'm settled where I live now and my little boy is going to be starting school in the next 18 months or so.
"It was really important that kept things as they were and I never really wanted to leave Blackpool anyway.
"The chairman has promised me a testimonial so he obviously thinks highly enough of me to do that and it will be quite special. To stay at a club for 10 years is quite rare."

    Dean Hammond: Staying at Southampton
    HAMMOND SIGNS NEW SOUTHAMPTON DEAL

Southampton captain Dean Hammond has handed the club a boost by signing a new long-term deal at the club.
Hammond has established himself as a key member of the Saints side since arriving from Colchester two years ago and helped them to win promotion from League One last season.
The 28-year-old has also played a key role in leading the side to the top of the Championship this term and he is delighted to pledge his future to the club.
"I'm very happy, delighted. I love being at the club and I've enjoyed every minute of it since I arrived two years ago, and I'm very thankful that the club has offered me a new contract," Hammond told the club's official website.
"It's a great club to be at and the ambition that the club has got is there for everyone to see. We started the season very well, and we're top of the Championship at the moment, so why would you want to be at any other club?
"Being top of the Championship is fantastic and we've started this season really well. When I joined this club the ambition was to get back into the Championship to start with, and we've done that, so now the ambition of the club is to get back into the Premier League and I hope to be a part of that.
"I'm 28 now so I'm probably coming into the best years of my career, and I'll be spending those at Southampton."
Southampton boss Nigel Adkins hailed Hammond as an "ultra professional" after signing a deal to keep him at St Mary's until 2014.
"Since I joined the football club Dean has been top drawer, we have a lot of exceptional professionals here, but Dean Hammond is the ultra professional so I am delighted that he has signed a new deal," said Adkins.
