Frank Arnesen: Wants to make appointment
    ARNESEN KEEN TO FILL VOID

Hamburg will have a new coach on their bench when they face Freiburg in a fortnight, according to director of sport Frank Arnesen.
League rules dictate caretaker-coach Rodolfo Cardoso can only continue in the job until Tuesday, as the former Hamburg player does not have a coaching licence.
Despite initially indicated that he would be seeking an exception from the German Football League, Arnesen no longer appears keen on fighting Cardoso's corner.
Speaking after his side's 2-1 defeat to Schalke, Arnesen confirmed the search is on for a new man to take over after the international break.
"Something has got to happen," Arnesen told Sky television.
"We don't have time until Christmas. For our next game in Freiburg, we will have a coach with a licence on the bench."
Former Hamburg player Sergei Barbarez has put himself into the frame for the job, saying: "I don't want to send a video application, but I just want to say that I have a very strong bond with this club and I have lots of emotions for this club.
"I think a solution with somebody from Hamburg would not be a bad one.
"I have had a small chat with Frank Arnesen and we will have to see what happens."
Hamburg are searching for a new coach after sacking Michael Oenning last month. Arnesen's preferred replacement, Huub Stevens, rejected Hamburg's overtures and instead joined Schalke last week.

    Sanogo: Training with Monaco
    SANOGO GETS MONACO TRIAL

Ivory Coast international Boubacar Sanogo is trying to win a move to Monaco.
Sango is available from St Etienne, who are keen to get him off their wage bill after two years of injury issues.
Celtic and Rangers had previously been keen on the 28-year-old but deals failed to materialise, whilst Stoke and Everton were also linked.
Now St Etienne are willing to let him leave and are happy to let him train with second division Monaco, who are enduring a poor start to the new season as they are bottom with just one win.
"I am trying to come back from the injuries I have had these past two seasons, it has not been easy for me," he told skysports.com.
"St Etienne have never seen me play regularly for the past two seasons and it is normal for them to try to send me on trial, hopefully I will prove my fitness and earn a contract here."

Quinn: Replaced by Short as chairman
    NIALL QUINN CHANGES SUNDERLAND ROLE

Niall Quinn has stood down as Sunderland chairman to focus on a new role within the club.
The former Black Cats striker will now "spearhead international development on behalf of the club" while owner Ellis Short will take over as chairman.
Quinn, who had been linked with the vacant chief executive role at his former club Manchester City recently, said on the club's website, safc.com: "This is a great opportunity for us to make the club stronger and I'm delighted that Ellis has agreed to support the plan.
"He'll be a fantastic chairman and taking this role on speaks volumes about his ambition for the club."
Quinn's new role will involve "developing Sunderland's profile and business interest overseas", according to the club.
American owner Short, meanwhile, said: "I can assure our fans that it's the same group of people continuing to lead the club.
"With financial fair play rules coming into effect it is essential for the long-term success of the club that we develop interests on a global scale and there's no-one better than Niall to sell the ethos of Sunderland to an international audience.
"He has been keen to drive this change for some time and I agree that it's the way forward for us now.
"Assuming the position of chairman is a great honour and I will treat the role as guardian of this club with the utmost respect."
Chief executive Margaret Byrne added: "Niall is widely known and hugely respected throughout the world of football.
"His profile, coupled with his vast knowledge of the game and the business, means he is perfectly placed to bring Sunderland to the forefront internationally.
"This new challenge begins immediately as he represents the club at the prestigious Leaders in Football conference in London this week, after which he travels to Korea with Steve Bruce and Mike Farnan, international marketing director.
"Trips to territories such as Vietnam, India, Abu Dhabi and Africa are also taking place in the coming months."
