Andy Johnson: Deal due to expire in the summer
    DEMPSEY HOPES JOHNSON WILL STAY

Clint Dempsey is hoping Fulham can secure team-mate Andy Johnson's services beyond the end of the season.
The former Everton striker's current deal is due to expire in the summer, although talks are ongoing to extend his stay.
Question marks have been raised over Johnson's long-term future after manager Martin Jol revealed he shunned the club's initial offer.
Johnson proved his credentials over the weekend with a hat-trick in Fulham's 6-0 demolition job over newly-promoted QPR.
Dempsey is a big fan of Johnson's ability and hopes the striker stays with the London outfit.
"That's not for me to make that decision," Dempsey told the Fulham Chronicle.
"But AJ's a goal scorer and he's good to have around, and hopefully that will be the case for some time to come.
"He also likes to have a laugh and I respect him for the fact he's had some tough injuries and fought back from them."

Diniyar Bilyaletdinov: Wants to play for Everton
    BILYALETDINOV NOT LOOKING TO LEAVE

Diniyar Bilyaletdinov has insisted he wants to remain at Everton and fight for a first-team place, rather than look for a move elsewhere.
The 26-year-old Russian has only started two Premier League games this season but says he will not be looking to leave Merseyside during the January transfer window.
The midfielder told the Liverpool Echo: "I want to stay here and prove something.
"I've got my agent, and maybe he's got something (in the summer) but I'd say not now please.
"I think every manager has to choose certain players for certain games based on his vision for how the team should play.
"I can only work and wait for the pre-match meeting. If you play or don't play you still need to be focused even if it's just for 10 minutes on the pitch because you can still change a game in that time."

    Reece Wabara: Loan switch
    WABARA EYES LONGER STAY

Reece Wabara would be willing to extend his loan stay at Ipswich until the end of the season should the next three months prove a success.
The right-back arrived from Manchester City last week on a three-month deal and duly made his debut as a late substitute against Brighton just 24 hours later, before starting for a Town reserve side in a 1-1 midweek draw with Watford.
The 19-year-old is keen to maximise the first-team experience on offer at Portman Road, telling Town's official website: "I really think the team is destined to do good things this season and I want to be a part of that.
"If I'm playing games and the team is playing well then there is no reason why I wouldn't stay here beyond my initial loan."
Wabara added: "I actually first heard about the interest here when I was away with England (at the Under-20 World Cup in Colombia over the summer), but my agent also told me that Ipswich had been watching me last season as well."

    Terry Butcher: New two-year deal
    BUTCHER COMMITS TO CALEY THISTLE

Inverness manager Terry Butcher has agreed a new two-year deal with the Clydesdale Bank Premier League club.
Butcher's new contract, and that of his assistant Maurice Malpas, were confirmed on the club's official website and mean the pair will remain at the Highland outfit until 2014.
The duo would have been out of contract next summer but the Caley Thistle board have moved quickly to avoid any uncertainty over their future.
Butcher and Malpas joined Inverness in January 2009 and steered the club to the Irn-Bru First Division title in 2010.
They then guided Caley Thistle to seventh place in the SPL last season, the club's joint highest finish.
Butcher told www.ictfc.co.uk: "Maurice and I have become extremely attached to this club, and so many fine people in it, and we're very pleased to sign the contract extensions.
"We enjoy living and working in the Highlands and we relish the spirit and support of what is very much a community club.
"Caley Thistle have won the admiration of many in Scottish football for their ambition and achievement with limited resources.
"This is a very special club and a key factor in deciding to sign the extension has been the strong support I have had from the board, led by George Fraser and his successor Kenny Cameron."
Inverness currently sit bottom of the SPL but Butcher is optimistic about their future prospects.
He added: "This season we've had the worst injury crisis I've ever seen at any club in my entire career, but everyone has stepped up to the mark and has shown tremendous strength and character.
"We've given lads like Nick Ross, Gavin Morrison, Shane Sutherland and Graeme Shinnie their chance in the first team over the past 18 months to two years and they have shown great potential.
"Further down the line, in our youth development system, there is no shortage of local players whose promise excites us.
"Continuity is essential to build and retain a successful squad and the fans can be sure this will be our priority over the next two and a half years."
Executive chairman Kenny Cameron said: "Terry and Maurice have done an excellent job for this club and we're delighted that they have put pen to paper on new two-year deals.
"It is important to have continuity at a club like ours and this extension will allow the management duo to plan for the future while signalling to the playing staff that Terry and Maurice are committed to the club going forward.
"Our present league position did not come in to the directors' thoughts. It is important to take a longer-term approach and we want Terry and Maurice to be a key part of this club's ongoing journey.
"We recognise the quality input of the management team and we have faith in their ability to further drive forward the club in playing terms.
"Negotiations were concluded fairly swiftly and we feel sure that our supporters will be pleased that this issue has been put to bed.
"We look forward to Terry and Maurice continuing to give opportunity to young local players as part of their first team strategy."

Nicklas Bendtner: On loan at Sunderland
    BENDTNER REVEALS BREAKING POINT

Nicklas Bendtner has identified the moment he knew he had to leave Arsenal and admitted it is frustrating to be ineligible for Sunderland's meeting with his parent club.
Bendtner joined the Black Cats on a season-long loan deal on transfer deadline day but has already made it clear that he does not plan to return to the Emirates Stadium, having become frustrated with a lack of opportunities under Arsene Wenger.
He can recall exactly when he made the decision that his time with the Gunners had to come to an end, and it was a game in February that proved pivotal to their campaign.
"I can point to a precise moment I knew I had to leave," Bendtner told The Journal.
"It was when I looked at the team sheet before the Carling Cup final and saw that I was not going to start. It was my worst moment in football.
"I was sad, stunned and disappointed beyond measure.
"I had played all our matches in the competition, scored goals and I was feeling really sharp.
"I felt things would never be good for me again at Arsenal after that."
Arsenal lost the game at Wembley 2-1 and their season unravelled from that point on, before a difficult summer and poor start to this term.
Bendtner is nevertheless expecting a difficult clash when Sunderland travel to Arsenal after the international break on October 16, although he will not be able to play.
He added: "That is frustrating but hopefully the lads will do well. It is a tough place. We know how Arsenal will play. We will have to try to get something out of the game."
Bendtner has made an impressive start to life with his new club and struck up a good understanding with Stephane Sessegnon in attack, but he now wants to help Sunderland improve on their current position of 16th in the Premier League.
"How do I think it is going at Sunderland? We have great players here. It is down to us to prove that and not just talk about it," he said.
"We would rather show on the pitch that we should be on the other side of the table. I am sure we will in the weeks to come after the international break. We are good enough and strong enough, but we just need back- to-back wins."
Bendtner added: "You can see Sessegnon and I are starting to gel together.
"We are trying to find each other, look for the balls to put one another in in training.
"We put a lot of work in to see if we can find the runs and the goals we do in training.
"I was delighted to get my first goal. Sessegnon pulled it back, I saw the tackle coming in and I hit it.
"It took a deflection and it went in. It was a relief. It is always special to get off the mark.
"It was always going to come at one point if you keep putting yourself in among the chances."
