Hot on the heels of buying out Sogecuatro and bring it to Canal+'s Prisa TV, Mediaset Spain is set to launch a men’s channel to compete directly with Antena 3's Nitro.
The company, managed by Italian executive Paolo Vasile, has two muxes on the national DTT allowing it a total of eight channels.
Current the company is exploiting six in-the-clear channels: Telecinco, La Siete, FDF, Boing, Cuatro and Divinity), plus another pay-TV channel, Canal+ 2, rented to Prisa TV, and a teleshopping TV service.
The men’s channel already has its content ready and executives are studying two possibilities for naming it.
