Sony Network Entertainment has announced that its Video Unlimited digital video service will elevate its Sony Tablet S above most of its rivals when it comes to online video.
Video Unlimited offers access to more than 40,000 premium movies and TV episodes from major studios and distributors. Including new releases as well as a wide variety of blockbusters, classic movies, local language movies and hit TV shows, with many in high-definition, Video Unlimited offers rentals and purchases.
Film rentals are available to start viewing up to 30 days after purchase. The movie can be viewed multiple times within 24 hours on a host of Sony and non-Sony connected devices same device once viewing begins. Most films are available 28 days before Netflix discs and in many cases years before Netflix streaming.
Often, television shows are available to own the day after they air. Movie trailers or previews are available free before consumers make a purchase decision.
"Sony Entertainment Network is the ultimate digital entertainment destination," said Tim Schaaff, president of Sony Network Entertainment. "Bringing 'Video Unlimited' services to Sony's Tablet S, in addition to PlayStation3 computer entertainment system, BRAVIA HDTVs, PCs and other devices gives users access to their entertainment anytime, anywhere."
