Arrai TV confirms death of Gaddafi’s son
Rebecca Hawkes ©RapidTVNews | 17-10-2011A pro Gaddafi television station has confirmed the death of Khamis Gaddafi, the deposed Libyan leader's youngest son, who had been reported killed by rebel fighters in August.
The Syrian-based Arrai channel said that brigade leader Khamis was killed on 29 August in Tarhuna, 50 miles southwest of Tripoli, while fighting "enemies of the homeland", according to AFP.
Although the National Transitional Council has pronounced the 28 year old Khamis long dead, it is the first time pro-Gaddafi media has confirmed his demise. Prior reports denied his death.
Former intelligence chief Abdullah al Senussi, a close ally of Muammar Gaddafi, was killed in the same attack, according to the Arrai report on Sunday (16 October).
The Damascus based Arabic channel is owned by Misha'an al-Juburi.
