    Brett Holman: Could leave AZ
    HOLMAN OPEN TO MOVE

AZ Alkmaar striker Brett Holman says he is "open to a new adventure" if the right offer comes in during the January transfer window.
The ambitious Australian, 27, has been a key part of an AZ side who have stormed to the top of the early Eredivisie standings with seven wins from nine games.
However, with the club admitting they are unable to offer him improved terms, Holman says there is a possibility he could move on to "a big league".
He told Voetbal International: "Of course I have ambitions. If there is a good club from a big league who are interested in me, then I am open to a new adventure.
"I have a Dutch wife and child and we're fine here. I know I must respect AZ's wishes, but if the proposal is good, I must seriously think about it."
AZ coach Gertjan Verbeek added: "Brett has signed a contract here in good time. Then he fell in the 30 per cent tax regime but that is now 52 per cent, so even if we offer him the same - and that's quite a challenge - even then his salary drops in real terms.
"Let me be clear that Holman is someone we would really like to keep at AZ, but the limits of what we can afford are currently unclear.
"We are dealing with a new wage structure, and with the millions you have to cut you cannot be exempt whether you are the tea lady or the press secretary.
"If Brett would be satisfied with less, we are thrilled."

    Timo Hildebrand: Could join Schalke
    SCHALKE LINKED WITH HILDEBRAND SWOOP

Schalke are reported to be considering drafting in former Germany keeper Timo Hildebrand after it was confirmed Ralf Fahrmann has ruptured knee ligaments.
Schalke's number one suffered the cruciate injury when he conceded a penalty in the 2-1 loss to Kaiserslautern in the Bundesliga on Saturday.
The 23-year-old was also shown a red card but that will be of little consequence to him and the team as he will be out for around three months with the injury.
Schalke general manager Horst Heldt told bild.de: "Ralf will miss at least three months."
As the club decide whether Fahrmann requires surgery they have reportedly turned their attention to a possible replacement.
Hildebrand's agent Jorg Neblung said: "I expect that will happen this week.
"When Timo joins a club, he wants to be sure that he plays."
Hildebrand is currently with second division club Eintracht Frankfurt.
