ProSieben to get pay-TV spin-off channel

German TV group ProSiebenSat.1 wants to launch a pay-TV sister channel as a spin-off to its general interest free-to-air channel ProSieben. At the same time, the two existing pay-TV services Sat.1 Comedy and kabel eins classics will be revamped.
"The new channel will launch in the next months," a ProSiebenSat.1 spokeswoman told German industry news portal "DWDL"

Regarding the changes to the other two subscription channels she said: "The channels' content structure will be more clearly aligned to their free-to-air sister channels. ProSieben's pay-TV spin-off service will be young, bold, cheeky and sportive while Sat.1 Comedy's programme structure will become more soft and emotional."
Details are expected to be announced in early 2012
