euronews to launch radio station

Pan-Europan TV news channel euronews will soon also be available as a radio service.

"We want to introduce euronews radio to the market by early 2012 at the latest," general director Michael Peters told German industry magazine Digitalmagazin.

The Lyon-based broadcaster initially plans web-radios, transmitting on the internet in five to six languages. "We have formed a joint venture with a large radio group, which will adjust our content for radio broadcasting," said Peters.
