Telmex’s Colombian VOD
Iñaki Ferreras ©RapidTVNews | 21-11-2011Mexican telco Telmex has decided to offer a VOD service in Colombia, and has now launched a streaming version of this service in the country.
The arrival of Netflix and subsequent actions by other companies like Spain’s Terra TV have created a need for the company to face competition if it doesn’t want to fall behind. Users will now be able to subscribe to this new service, called TV Online, for a monthly fee of US$8.13. The package includes access to content in the general library ‑ which can be seen as many times as wanted while the account is active ‑ content for kids, premieres and premium content. The premieres and premium content have a price per event of US$3.85 and will be available for just one day.
Telmex offers its customers the opportunity to add the amounts spent on its new VOD service to its regular invoice. For the Online TV system to work, it is necessary to have at least a 1MB broadband connection and a compatible operative system, such as Windows XP and Vista or Apple Mac OS X.
