Free’s mobile ambitions given green light
Pascale Paoli-Lebailly ©RapidTVNews | 16-12-2011French triple-play operator Free has been given a green light by telecom regulatory body Arcep to launch a new mobile offer, after its network has now covered 25% of French territory.
The new industry player, whose ambition is to halve users’ current bills, will challenge incumbents Orange, Bouygues Telecom and SFR.
To get this fourth mobile licence, Free’s mother company Iliad invested €240 M, and its arrival on the market is promising strong prices battles among operators as the current trend is the offering of low cost fees.
