The board of directors at French PSB group France Télévisions has adopted a €2,968bn budget for 2012, up 2% compared with the previous period. The includes a 20% growth of the financial share dedicated to digital developments.
The public group plans to invest €63m to expand its digital offer. It is shortly set to comprise the launch of a sport platform, whose framework will be based on that of news platform Francetv info, which launched last November 2011. The websites of France 3’s regional and local channels will also be upgraded, and new investments will be allowed to develop new transmedia formats such as web docs and web dramas.
France Télévisions’s agreement on targets and resources for 2011-2015, which was signed last November with French State, anticipates a 2.5% raise in programme spending. The 2012 global budget bets on €425m of revenue coming from advertising.
