    Lloyd Sam: Loan switch

    SAM MOVES TO MAGPIES

Leeds winger Lloyd Sam has joined Notts County on loan until the end of the season.
The 27-year-old began his career with Charlton before spending time on loan with Leyton Orient, Sheffield Wednesday and Southend prior to joining the Whites.

The Magpies have hauled themselves back into the npower League One promotion picture since Curle arrived and Sam's deal stipulates that he can play in any play-off game should they reach that stage.

    Berbatov: Heading for OT exit

BERBATOV SET FOR MAN UNITED EXIT

Sir Alex Ferguson has confirmed Manchester United's record signing Dimitar Berbatov is set to leave Old Trafford in the summer.
The £30.75million forward has found first-team places difficult to come by since being left out of the United squad for last season's Champions League final defeat to Barcelona.
And, on the eve of a last-16 Europa League second leg tie with Athletic Bilbao, Ferguson confirmed the Bulgarian is set to leave in the summer.

"His concern is not getting first-team football," said Ferguson.
"At 31, he is looking at first-team football.
"It is difficult for me to guarantee that so it could lead to him looking elsewhere."
Berbatov's contract is due to expire in the summer. However, rather than let the former Tottenham man leave for nothing at the end of the season, they will trigger a one-way clause to extend the deal for a further year.

That would mean United would get a fee for the player, who was linked with former club Bayer Leverkusen during the January transfer window.
However, the Red Devils hierarchy know they would get nothing like the mammoth sum they paid for the striker, whom Ferguson had such high hopes for when he arrived but has never quite managed to fulfil them, despite ending last season as the joint Golden Boot winner.
"We will be taking up the option on his contract but, having had chats with him, I understand he wants to get first-team football," said Ferguson.
"It is something we need to consider at the end of the season. For a player of his age and his ability it is disappointing for him that he is not getting first-team football.

"We will look at the end of the season but until then, he remains at United."

Ferguson confirmed Berbatov is again set to miss out tomorrow as United look to overturn a 3-2 deficit from last week's home encounter.
"He could play tomorrow but I have good options in terms of front players with Javier Hernandez, Danny Welbeck and Wayne Rooney," said Ferguson.

Harry Redknapp: Favourite for the England job

REDKNAPP - OLDER IS WISER FOR ENGLAND

Harry Redknapp has claimed being England manager is "an older man's job".
Tottenham boss Redknapp, who is the favourite to succeed Fabio Capello as national team boss, certainly fits that criteria, having recently turned 65.
Redknapp, who has made no secret of his desire to manage his country, told ITV Meridian: "I suppose there's not a million candidates, you know, Roy Hodgson and Sam Allardyce and whoever.
"And there's some young managers like Nigel Adkins and people like that, who in the future I'm sure would be fantastic but, at the moment, probably too young.

"It is an older man's job, I think. It's not a job for a young guy."
He added: "I said all along I think it needs an English manager. I think we need to give somebody a go.
"We've not achieved anything with foreign managers.
"Capello did okay for sure - bad World Cup (in 2010) - but we haven't really torn up any trees, so why not give it to somebody from here."
Redknapp reiterated he had yet to be approached by the Football Association and remained determined not to let the speculation distract him.
He said: "It's a great job, obviously, to be manager of your country.

"It's difficult. At the moment, I've got a job to do at Tottenham and suddenly we've lost a couple of games.
"I've got to really keep concentrating on my job at Tottenham, which I do 100%, and see what happens at the end of the year.
"Tottenham is my only focus, really.
"I want to make sure we get Champions League football this year."
