High-tech French digital TV software and multimedia start-up Logiways has signed up with China’s SARFT for the definition of the PushVoD standard for satellite TV.
Selected by the Chinese regulator along with three other Chinese companies, Logiways will work on a potential market of up to 200 million households by 2015. Logiways’s PushVoD solution is called Vodaccess, and the company has also developped the Safeaccess Conditional Access System that secures access to high-quality content.
The patent agreement includes an intellectual property contract designed to safeguard content owners’ property rights and facilitate securing revenues from licences.
Logiways has also proposed a plug-in push VOD solution that can be integrated with a pay-TV operator’s existing third-party conditional access systems and middleware.
Headquartered in France, the company, headed by Jean-Philippe Plantevin, owns two Chinese subsidiaries in Shenshen and Hong-Kong. Logiways is also in the process of deploying its PushVoD Vodaccess solution in Myanmar, Kenya and South Africa.
