Telefónica creates venture capital company

Spain’s main telco Telefónica has set up a limited company in Spain, Telefónica Digital Venture Capital, to bring bring together the activities of the company in risk capital and investment in multinational technology companies.

The company, which began operations in order to develop activities and provide services in the area of telecommunications, information and communication and the Venture Capital Digital Telephone business will depend on companies including Digital Telephone Spain (formerly Terra Networks Associates) and Telefónica Digital UK.

Among the company’s key advisers include Director of Product Development and Innovation in Digital Phone, Carlos Domingo, and the chief financial officer, Antonio Martí Plum and David Giner Garcia, part of the area of Corporate Affairs.
