To be able to enjoy your Humax, you need :
1) a null modem cable
2) the Humax Toolbox
3) the latest Firmware
4) the latest Settings
5) the latest PMC Table
6) the latest Keybin
Item 1 null modem cable - you have to buy and is very cheap to get
Items 2 to 6 are luckily always available free on this Forum.
To be able to perform items 3 to 6 mentioned above you always need the Humax Toolbox referred to at item 2 above so start by downloading it to your PC
Then just follow this quide here of how to perform items 3 to 6 successfully starting with item 3 :
How to upload the latest firmware
Requirements:-
Humax Toolbox
+Cam Firmware Hot Emu xx (with extension HDF) Unzipped File
Null Modem Cable attached between PC and Receiver
1. Put Receiver on a FTA Channel and put it in Standby position (ensure to put in ON or STANDBY position always from the Receiver itself and not with Remote)
2. Connect PC to Receiver with RS 232 Null Modem Cable
3. From the Humax Toolbox select and start the Humax Uploader Version 2.O Program
4. Set up the correct Com Port
5. Click Open File
6. Double Click on File Name
7. An Information Screen pops up saying “File is unknown. Install at your own risk”’
8. Click OK
9. Click Upload (PC->STB)
10. Turn On Receiver from Standby position. At this point, a progress bar appears on PC and a simultaneous one on the TV screen
11. When download is ready, on the TV screen you will see: “End. Press Standby Key”
12. Press Standby Key.
13. Then with the Remote select: Menu, Toh, Config (CAID Preselect) and select Card +Emu (vide Note 15 below)
14. Patch is complete
15. The following options (found under CAID Preselect) and their meanings are set out below for information and guidance:
CARD+EMU => For Emulator DEFAULT use + irde*o (2) card (fast zap)
CARD+EMU+S => For Emulator + Card Sharing (Premiere + Irdeto2)
CARD+S+EMU => For Emulator + Card Sharing (Premiere + Cryptoworks)
CARD+S+EMU also support CAM with Conax card in EMU mode (slow zap)
CAS1 => For Emulatorek/Wallbanger auto switch
CAS2 => For Nagra Aladin test
CAS3 => For people with SkyCrypt and Conax supported CAM's
CAS4 => For people with Nagra supported CAM's or irde*o 2 test
CAS5 => For Cryptoworks test
CAS6 => For SHL test
16. Having done this, you now need to proceed to item 4
How to upload the latest Channel List
1. Save the latest unzipped Settings File in the Folder of your choice
2. Connect your PC and Receiver by RS- 232C Null Modem Cable
3. Put your Receiver on a FTA Channel
4. Open Humax Toolbox
5. Select the Channel Editor Humbox V 4.1 Program
6. On the Humbox V 4.1 Program, click on `File` and `Open`
7. Then select and double-click on the saved unzipped file referred to at 1 above
8. Your PC screen now displays the details of the new Channel Settings
9. Go to Edit and Options and select the correct Com Port and Press OK
10. Go again to Edit and Options, then to Model, type your System ID (if you don’t know or forgot your System ID, with your Remote Control go to Menu, Installation, Status and STB Status and you’ll find it listed there) and press OK
11. Go to IRD and press on `Download to Humax`
12. At this stage, a message pops up: Waiting for Humax Connection
13. Press the Standby button on your Receiver to turn it to On position.
14. The download starts immediately. Now wait for the Channel List to be downloaded.
15. When ready, put Receiver in Standby position
16. Put Receiver in On position
17. Now the new Channel List is downloaded.
18. Go to Menu, ToH and press on Config, then choose CAID
Preselect and select Card+Emu
Next step is to proceed to item 5 - How to upload a PMC Table
1. Save the latest unzipped PMC Table File in the Folder of your choice
2. Connect your PC and Receiver by RS- 232C Null Modem Cable
3. Put your Receiver on a FTA Channel
4. Open Humax Toolbox
5. Select the PMC Tool Program
6. On the PMC Tool Program, click on `File` and `Open`
7. Then select and double-click on the saved unzipped file referred to at 1 above
8. Your PC screen now displays the details of the new PMC Table
9. Go to Config and select the correct Com Port
10. On the same screen, press STB and Download
11. At this stage, a message pops up: PC to STB “Waiting for Humax Connection”
12. Press the Standby button on your Receiver
13. The download starts immediately. Now wait for the PMC Table to be downloaded to your PC
14. When ready, put Receiver in Standby position
15. Put Receiver in On position
16. Now the new PMC Table is downloaded.
17. Go to Menu, ToH and press on Config, then choose CAID Preselect and select Card+Emu
and finally item 6
Uploading the Key.Bin
Requirements:
FunCard inserted in embedded slot of Receiver
RS-232C Null Modem Cable
Humax Toolbox
Latest KeyBin File
Uploading the Key.Bin
1. Save the latest unzipped Key.Bin File in the folder of your choice.
2. Connect your PC with Receiver by RS-232C Null Modem Cable
3. Start your Humax Receiver on a FTA Channel
4. Open Humax Toolbox
5. From Toolbox, select DRS9500 Emu Ed Ver 4.2 Program
6. On the Program, go to ? (next to File), Settings and select correct Com Port
7. Go to File and click `Open File` and then select and double-click on the unzipped Key Bin File referred to at (1) above
8. Press Write
9. At this stage, a Message pops up: Do you want to write already loaded file? Yes or No?
10. Press `Yes`
11. The download starts immediately and only takes a few seconds to complete.
12. When download is ready, put Receiver in Standby position (from the Receiver itself)
13. Put Receiver in On position (again from the Receiver itself)
14. Go to Menu, ToH and press Config, then choose CAID Preselect and select Card + Emu
16 Keys are now successfully installed.
NOTHING FURTHER IS REQUIRED BECAUSE
AT THIS STAGE YOUR HUMAX IS FULLY OPERATIONAL WITH THE LATEST FIRMWARE FOR YOUR ENJOYMENT !
