Dreambox 500s no signal - HELP!!

My mate has a dreambox 500s and even though he is pointing at 13e he cannot pick up any signal, only around 30% where-as when he plugs his technomate in, he gets 82%.

Does anyone know what the problem may be as he has only had is 4 days (brought it off someone he knows so no warranty).

Did your mate try to get another satellit with the Dream, or only on 13°East ?
Did he have a rotor or a multifeed Dishsystem???
Did he have an Image on his DM500-box ? If yes, what image !

Hello! I'm entering in the subject as I have the same issue.
DM 500, running under Gemini (even with the official img it doesn't work.) I've pointed my sat (with a stab HH100) on hotbird, great signal with my kaon (more than 80%) but unstable signal on my dm, or no lock, and even sometime no signal at all (0% each).
It worked a few days ago, but since I made an upgrade of the img nothing works... even after a down grade.
I was able to turn the rotor, to see the channels and so on but now nothing, the rotor is not responding (though it is with my kaon), no signal... Tuner dead? Or could someone send me the exact settings needed with the lnb config and rotor config (voltages, H/V settings, everything what could help me) pleeeaase...

Hi,

Known problem on dreambox, this is only a gui problem.

Please scan a sat and go again to the screen. You should see the correct value.

I have a dm500 with gemini and all work fine.
Try to flash against. Sometime, the upgrade don't work fine. When i flash
i do it twice for a best update.

I use a rs232 cable to flash my dm.

hi, i've got same problem ... there's no signal.... i reflashed at least 5 times.... i did change the Q72 but still same problem.
But when i power the lnb through another decoder, my dm500s searches channel and i can view them...
(LNB input to my old humax 5400 , output to my dm500s)

Now what do i do ??
