Cablevision Mexico, Grupo Televisa's cable operator, has announced the deployment of the first commercial 100Gbps optical fibre network in the country, which will be supplied by Alcatel-Lucent.
The network will reduce operating and maintenance costs and reduce energy consumption, according to Alcatel-Lucent.
Madiedo Israel, director of Cablevision Systems and Network, said: "The services of high quality broadband that we are implementing in Mexico will help provide substantial benefits in the country and boost economic growth and help reduce the digital divide."
