    Pavel Pogrebnyak: In Reading talks

    READING EYE PAVEL POGREBNYAK

Reading are one of several English clubs in talks with Russian striker Pavel Pogrebnyak, according to his agent.
The 28-year-old spend the second half of last season on loan at Fulham from German side Stuttgart, netting six goals in 12 appearances.
Pogrebnyak is out of contract this summer, and it has been reported newly-promoted Reading are poised to sign him up on a four-year deal worth around £65,000-a-week after the striker turned down an offer from the Cottagers.
However, Pogrebnyak's representative Oleg Artemov maintains nothing is yet decided.
Speaking to Russian news agency R-Sport, Artemov said: "We are not just holding talks with Reading. There are other English clubs.
"I think that a final decision will be taken in a week's time."

Pogrebnyak made just one appearance at Euro 2012, coming on as a substitute against Greece as Russia lost their final group game and went out of the competition.
Backed by new Russian owner Anton Zingarevich, Royals boss Brian McDermott has been keen to bolster his squad on the return to the Barclays Premier League, signing former Nottingham Forest winger Garath McCleary on a free contract.
Watford defender Adrian Mariappa, Forest's Chris Gunter, Hull City's Robert Koren and Huddersfield striker Jordan Rhodes have also been linked with the Berkshire club.

Clint Hill: 'Absolutely buzzing' over new deal

CLINT HILL EXTENDS STAY AT QPR

Veteran defender Clint Hill has agreed a new one-year extension with QPR.
The popular 33-year-old defender, named both the Players' Player and Supporters' Player of the Year last season, will remain at Loftus Road until the summer of 2013, with the option of a further year.
Hill said on www.qpr.co.uk: "I'm absolutely buzzing. As soon as I found out that Mark Hughes wanted to keep me for at least another year, staying here was the only thing on my mind.

"It was a straightforward decision to stay. I love playing here and I love playing at Loftus Road. It's a great ground."
Hoops boss Mark Hughes continued his building plans on Monday for next season with the double signing of striker Andy Johnson and defender Ryan Nelsen, who will join up at the start of July when their contracts at Fulham and Tottenham respectively expire.
Hill believes the future is bright for QPR, after they secured another season in the top flight on the final day, despite a last-gasp defeat at champions Manchester City, and are now under solid leadership following a boardroom takeover.

He added: "I've seen the plans for the future and the new training ground it's an exciting time to be here. I'm really looking forward to the challenge.
"Hopefully I can now try and get a few more games under my belt and next season will see us progress even further as a club.
"New players are coming in and it's an exciting time for everyone connected to the club. I just want to try and give the gaffer a headache.
"I don't know what the starting eleven's going to be, but I'm willing to rise to the challenge again and make it hard for people to take that place off me."

    Jacob Mellis: Completes Tykes move

    TYKES MAKE MELLIS MOVE

Barnsley have completed the signing of midfielder Jacob Mellis on a two-year deal.
The 21-year-old made 15 appearances for the Tykes during a loan spell at Oakwell under previous manager Mark Robins in 2011.
Nottingham-born Mellis was released from Chelsea in March after setting off a smoke grenade at the club's Cobham training headquarters.

Manager Keith Hill told Barnsley's official website: "I'm really pleased to have got Jacob. He's a quality player and I am really looking forward to working with him.
"We're both on the same page as to what is to be expected and demanded from him.
"I can't think of a better talented player to recruit in the interest of bringing success to the football club."
