    Fabio joins Hoops on loan

QPR sign Brazilian youngster from United on season-long loan
    Last Updated: July 2, 2012 4:39pm

Fabio: Has signed a season-long loan deal at QPR from United

Manchester United defender Fabio da Silva will spend the upcoming campaign on loan at QPR after penning a season-long deal.
The Brazilian full-back, who can play on either side of the back four, has notched up 53 first-team matches for the Red Devils but has rarely been a first-choice starter.
The 21-year-old, who arrived at Old Trafford in 2008 from boyhood club Fluminense, will now have the chance to push for consistent senior football at Loftus Road.
Fabio joined United alongside twin brother Rafael - who penned a new four-year deal at Old Trafford earlier on Monday.
    Opportunity

His arrival at Loftus Road has been hailed by Rangers boss Mark Hughes, who told the club's official website: "It's a great opportunity for us to loan a good, young player, who has decent experience of playing for a top club like Manchester United.
"He's played a lot of senior games for United, so it shows the quality he's got.
"I know they think very highly of him and we believe he has all the attributes to be a success here next season.
"First and foremost, he's a good defender. He's got great enthusiasm as well, and just like his brother, he's a top professional.
"We can give him the games he's craving at this stage of his career, so it benefits everybody.
"He's very versatile - he can play left or right-back and he's also been utilised in midfield by Sir Alex (Ferguson) in the past, so we know what we're getting, and that's a very good player."
Fabio sees the move - and the chance of establishing himself in the Premier League - as important to his development.
"I'm so happy to be here," he said.
"This loan is so important for me in terms of my career. I want to play as many games as possible here. I want to play well and win games as well.
"It's a good move for my career and for my confidence.
    History

"Sir Alex Ferguson said that I'd enjoy it here and told me to play as many games as I can. I know that QPR is a club with great history. I read about the history and that's why I'm here.
"I also came here because I'm ambitious. I want to help QPR progress up the Premier League.
"Hopefully the fans will enjoy watching me in action, because I'll do my best."

Brazilian midfielder Ederson has joined Lazio from Lyon on a free transfer.
The 26-year-old, who was out of contract this summer, has signed a contract at the Italian outfit until 2017.

    Rovers wrap up Best deal

Striker joins Rovers on four-year deal from Newcastle
    Last Updated: July 2, 2012 7:11pm

Leon Best: Has joined Blackburn in a deal worth over £3million

Blackburn have completed the signing of striker Leon Best from Newcastle on a four-year deal worth more than £3million.
Sky Sports reported earlier on Monday the 25-year-old was undergoing a medical at Ewood Park ahead of a prospective move.
And Rovers confirmed the switch on Monday evening, with Best putting pen to paper on a deal to keep him at the relegated Lancashire club until 2016.

A statement on the club's official website said: "Blackburn Rovers have this evening completed the signing of Leon Best from Newcastle United.
"The 25-year-old striker makes the move from the North East to the North West for a fee of more than £3m, signing a four-year deal."
Best, who scored 10 goals in 46 appearances for the Magpies after joining from Coventry during the 2010 January transfer window, will help fill the void created by Yakubu's departure to China from Blackburn last week.
The striker missed the closing three months of last season due to a knee injury, which also ruined his chances of featuring for Republic of Ireland at Euro 2012.

Opportunities for regular first-team football at St James' Park next season had appeared slim, with manager Alan Pardew preferring the prolific Papiss Cisse and Demba Ba up front.
Best becomes Rovers' second signing of the summer following the arrival of former Fulham midfielder Danny Murphy last week as they look to bounce back from their slide into the Championship last season.

Ragnar Klavan: Looking forward to testing himself in Germany

Bundesliga outfit FC Augsburg have snapped up Estonia international Ragnar Klavan from Dutch side AZ Alkmaar.
The talented defender has penned a deal which is set to run until June 2014.
Augsburg have agreed a compensation package with Alkmaar for Klavan, as he had 12 months left to run on his contract in Holland.
The 26-year-old is delighted to be on the move and is looking forward to testing himself in the German top-flight.
Klavan told Augsburg's official website: "I am happy that the deal has gone through.

"I am looking forward to the challenge offered to me by Augsburg.
"The Bundesliga has a great reputation as one of the top leagues in Europe.
"I hope I can help Augsburg to achieve their goals next season."
Augsburg boss Markus Weinzierl added: "Ragnar Klavan is a versatile defender. He will mainly operate in the centre of the defence and is a good signing for a team like us.

    Double swoop for Juve

Serie A giants snap up Asamoah and Isla from Udinese
    Last Updated: July 2, 2012 10:41pm

Kwadwo Asamoah: Has joined Juventus from Udinese

Juventus have confirmed the double capture of Udinese pair Kwadwo Asamoah and Mauricio Isla, with Cristian Pasquato moving in the opposite direction.
Juve have agreed a co-ownership agreement with their Serie A rivals that could eventually see them pay €18million for the services of Ghanaian midfielder Asamoah and €18.8m for Chile winger Isla.
Under the terms of the deal, Udinese will retain half of the economic rights for each player. The duo will spend at least next season at Juve, with both teams to review the agreement at the end of that campaign.
Asamoah, 23, has made over 100 league appearances for Udinese after arriving in 2008, while 24-year-old Isla has been deployed in a variety of roles in both defence and midfield since arriving at the club in 2007.
    Dream

Speaking about his impending switch to the Italian champions earlier this week, Isla said: "This is a dream come true. I am going to the strongest team in Italy.
"It is important for me as a player but it is also vital for my family. I have been working for years to get to this point.
"In Udine I became a professional, but I have always said that sooner or later I would go to a bigger club like Juve."
Pasquato, 22, came through the ranks at Juve but leaves having made just one first-team appearance in the past four years.
