Luka Modric: Tottenham midfielder would 'fit in' at Real Madrid, according to Aitor Karanka
Assistant coach Aitor Karanka is confident Luka Modric would 'fit in' at Real Madrid after describing the Tottenham Hotspur midfielder as an 'outstanding footballer'.
Reports have claimed that Modricis pushing for a move to Real after failing to see a transfer to Chelsea
come to fruition 12 months ago.
He has been punished by Spurs for not travelling on the club's pre-season tour to the United States, but he is back in training as talks continue regarding his future.
Spurs are reported to want £40million before agreeing to sell the Croatiainternational and there have been suggestions that big-spending French club Paris St Germain
are willing to pay that fee.
However, Real remain favourites to land Modric and Karanka suggested the 26-year-old would be an ideal recruit for the Spanish champions.
Asked about Modric, Karanka told AS: "Which club would not want a player like him?
"He is an outstanding footballer and had a great tournament (Euro 2012). It is clear that he would fit in at Madrid."
Meanwhile, Karanka also confirmed that discussions are ongoing about the future of Kaka after the Brazilian schemer was not involved in Tuesday's friendly win over Real Oviedo.
Karanka added: "We decided he would stay in Madrid. Kaka and the club are working to find a good solution for all parties."
