    Bender to stay at Bayer

Midfielder wants to end speculation over his future
    Last Updated: July 25, 2012 3:29pm

Lars Bender: The midfielder hs signed a new 5-year deal to remain at Bayer Leverkusen

Lars Bender has shrugged off suggestions that he is about to walk out on Bayer Leverkusen for a money-spinning deal with Bayern Munich.
The 23-year-old Germany international has been linked with the Bundesliga giants in recent weeks after an impressive season at the BayArena sparking a war of words between the clubs.

Bayern Munich chief executive officer Karl-Heinz Rummenigge and coach Jupp Heynckes had both hinted in the press that they would like to sign the player causing anger at his current club.
But Bender moved to calm the situation by revealing he has no interest in a move having recently signed a new deal that will keep him at Leverkusen until the summer of 2017.

"I just recently signed a new contract with Bayer Leverkusen," he told the club's official website. "I am ready to take my next step at this club.
"There has definitely been enough said about the whole thing now and I am not out to participate in any more rumours and speculation.
"I intend to become a real key player at Bayer Leverkusen and I intend to take over more responsibility in the first team.
"The latest campaign was my very first as a regular starter in a Bundesliga line-up. Beforehand I was more or less a stand-in"

Yann Kermorgant: Has committed his future to Charlton by signing a new two-year contract

Striker Yann Kermorgant has pledged his long-term future to Charlton by signing a new contract.
The French striker established himself as a firm favourite at The Valley following his arrival on a free transfer last summer, with 20 goals to help the Addicks to the League One title.

Kermorgant, 30, will now remain in South East London until at least 2014, with the option of a further 12 months.
"I'm really happy to sign a new contract at Charlton," he told the club's official website. "I've loved my time at the club and have already enjoyed some special moments here.

"I look forward to playing back in the Championship and continuing to help this great club move forward."
Addicks boss Chris Powell said: "I'm really happy that Yann has agreed a new deal. He was sensational last season.
"He came in and made a mark not only with the players and in the team, but with the supporters as well. I know they already think he's a bit of a cult hero."

    Forest make Halford bid

Defender poised to quit Fratton Park
    Last Updated: July 25, 2012 7:56pm

Greg Halford: Set to become the latest player to leave Portsmouth this summer

Sky Sports understands Nottingham Forest are in talks with Portsmouth over a deal to sign defender Greg Halford.
Halford is certain to leave crisis-club Pompey this summer after he was left out of the club's tour to Spain in order to push through a sale.
The club's administrators warned on Wednesday that they will go out of business on August 10th if the remaining senior first-team players do not agree to transfers or sign wage-compromise deals.

New Forest boss Sean O'Driscoll is believed to have targeted the former Colchester United youngster as he begins his task of re-building the club.
O'Driscoll, who has already added Adlene Guedioura to his ranks, is keen to bolster his defence ahead of the new campaign.
Stoke City stopper Danny Collins has also moved to the City Ground while Ipswich Town's Damien Delaney is believed to be on the club's radar.
Halford appears to be high on O'Driscoll's wanted list, with the club understood to have started negotiations to take the 27-year-old to Nottingham.
