    Arshavin could stay at Arsenal
    Last Updated: July 30 2012, 11:46 BST

Arsene Wenger is to hold talks with Andrey Arshavin to decide whether the Russian has a future at Arsenal, while Nicklas Bendtner, Sebastien Squillaci and Park Chu-Young are set to leave the club.

Andrey Arshavin: Set for talks with Arsene Wenger
Forward Arshavin spent the second half of last season on loan at former side Zenit St Petersburg after coming in for criticism from fans at the Emirates Stadium.
It was expected Arshavin, a £15million winter 2009 signing, would be sold this summer in order to fund further incoming players on top of the likes of Olivier Giroud and Lukas Podolski.

But manager Wenger has not ruled out the prospect of keeping the 31-year-old, who played well amid Russia's disappointing Euro 2012 campaign.
"Arshavin, it depends. We have to sit together and have talks. He could still have a future at the club," said Wenger in the Daily Mail.
The discussions could take place this week, with Arsenal having returned from their pre-season friendlies in the Far East, which did not include Arshavin.
Another item on Wenger's agenda after flying back to the United Kingdom will be the futures of Bendtner, Squillaci and Park, who have all been deemed surplus to requirements.

Bendtner spent all of last season on loan at Sunderland and has been linked with Malaga and Galatasaray, while Squillaci and Park have failed to impress since their respective arrivals in August 2010 and 2011.
"Bendtner, Squillaci and Park will be on their way to go somewhere," said Wenger.

De Jong 'happy' at Man City
    Last Updated: July 30 2012, 12:03 BST

Nigel de Jong: 'I'm playing football and I'm happy here'
Nigel de Jong has once again sought to distance himself from rumours regarding his future and claims to be "happy" at Manchester City.
With just 12 months left to run on his current contract at the Etihad Stadium, and with City blessed with an abundance of options in the middle of the park, speculation has suggested that De Jong could be ready to take on a new challenge.
A move to German giants Bayern Munich has been touted, with the Dutchman having spent three years with Hamburg in the Bundesliga prior to joining City in January 2009.

De Jong has been offered fresh terms by the reigning Premier League champions, but is yet to put pen to paper.
A delay in committing himself to the club has only served to fuel the transfer rumours, but the 27-year-old enforcer claims to be at peace with his situation.
After turning out in a pre-season friendly against Stockport on Saturday, De Jong told the Manchester Evening News: "I don't want to talk about that at the moment, it's not in my mind - however, I'm playing football and I'm happy here.

"I'm happy when I'm on the pitch and when I'm playing; football's the most beautiful game in the world and you have to enjoy every moment."
For now, De Jong's focus is locked on helping City to build on their successes of the last two years - with conquering Europe a top priority after tasting FA Cup and Premier League glory.
"Of course, that's what we all want because that's the way to go forward," he said.
"We set ourselves the goal of taking it step by step.

"We won the FA Cup last year, then the Premier League last season, so the next thing is the Champions League.
"However, that doesn't change the fact that we're in for all the titles this year - Champions League, Premier League, FA Cup and League Cup.
"We want to win them all but we have to maintain our focus."

    Elm explains Moscow move

Sweden international seals CSKA Moscow switch
    Last Updated: July 30, 2012 4:28pm

Rasmus Elm: Has cited financial and sporting reasons for his move to CSKA Moscow

CSKA Moscow have completed the signing of Rasmus Elm from AZ Alkmaar on a three-year contract.
The 24-year-old Sweden international joins the Russian club for an undisclosed fee after spending three years in Holland.
Elm believes the switch makes sense for sporting reasons but also admits it is at least partially motivated by the riches on offer in the Russian Premier League.

"It's a combination of a sport challenge and a good financial solution," Elm told Sportbladet.
"CSKA Moscow usually play in the Champions League and is a big club. Then, it is also a step upwards financially."
Elm made 83 Eredivisie appearances for AZ after signing from home-town club Kalmar in 2009.
