RTL Nitro HD to join Kabel Deutschland

Germany's largest cable operator Kabel Deutschland will add the HD version of entertainment channel RTL Nitro to its cable network on 28 August 2012

With the move, the Munich-based company will be one of the first cable operators in Germany to offer the free-to-air channel to its customers in high-definition.

The channel which launched on 1 April 2012 has been available in standard resolution on Kabel Deutschland's network since early July. One month ago, parent company RTL announced to offer RTL Nitro to its distribution partners in HD quality.

With crime, action and comedy series as well as movies RTL Nitro mainly targets a male audience.
