Prisa TV’s football channel Canal+ Liga is extending its presence among Spain’s pay-TV operators.
The country's main cable operator Ono is already negotiating with the channel to incorporate it from 1 September.
From 1 September, sports channel Gol TV will only be available to DTT subscribers, while Prisa TV's signal can be marketed on all platforms except DTT, so the networks are looking to replace Gol TV with Canal+ Liga where possible.
Canal+1 is already in Ono’s commercial offering, and the broadcaster hopes to offer Canal+ 1 and Canal+ Liga at a price attractive enough for its customers.
Movistar Imagenio is also incorporating Canal+ and Canal+ Liga for this season with up to eight matches per day, including La Liga and Champions League games.
