Germany's national telco Deutsche Telekom will make its IPTV platform Entertain available on mobile devices: Customers will be able to access around 40 TV channels and the video-on-demand (VOD) service on tablet-PCs, smartphones, laptops and PCs from the end of 2012.
The line-up will include channels such as ARD, ZDF, Sat.1, ProSieben, kabel eins and 3sat. At first, the service will be streamed through the customers' local home Wi-Fi network with 3G mobile networks to follow at a later stage.
IPTV customers can sign up for "Entertain to go" at a surcharge of €5 per month. At the introduction, there will be a free-of-charge period in which the new service can be tested without obligation to subscribe.
